摘要: It is common to bundle plural conductor wires (e.g., via cable tie) when conductor wires are run collectively some distance (e.g., from the back of a computer tower to related devices (e.g., mouse, monitor)). Oftentimes bundled conductor wires are broken or damaged—potentially posing a shock hazard—when conductor wires are bundled too tightly or bent at too extreme an angle. These concerns are exacerbated in long runs of conductor wire in enclosed spaces where friction and strain relief also become concerns—for example, in large scale applications where tall, substantially hollow poles contain long runs of conductor wire which connect devices at or near the top of the pole to devices at or near the bottom of the pole. Disclosed herein are apparatus and methods of supporting runs of conductor wire in a manner that overcomes the above deficiencies, and further provides stability and protection.

摘要: There exists a number of youth development programs centered on sports programming. Some of these programs operate on a platform of revitalizing neighborhood spaces to improve community engagement by creating a space for youth to enjoy sports. Oftentimes these neighborhood spaces include restrictions or the surrounding community has needs (like lighting and seating) which are unmet or under-met. Envisioned is a system approach to addressing these needs wherein a wide variety of custom solutions can be produced from prefabricated, modular, and portable components that interface with existing amenities (if any) so to enrich the youth experience and better achieve program objectives. This modular approach provides a common infrastructure for different spaces, different sports, and different levels of play.

摘要: Lighting applications which are particularly difficult to light because of “non-standard” target area characteristics or the like would benefit from advancements in lighting design. That being said, conventional wisdom in lighting design has reached a point of diminishing returns in terms of beam control. Envisioned is an LED lighting system designed for precision lighting insomuch that—as compared to state-of-the-art LED lighting fixtures—sharpness of cutoff is improved while in at least some cases simultaneously allowing a steeper cutoff without undesirable beam shift. Furthermore, overall beam dimensions can be tailored fixture-to-fixture for an application without replacing an entire optic system or designing an entirely new fixture, and control of intensity distribution is improved (e.g., by avoiding striations at the edge of beam patterns). Said envisioned LED lighting system employs a number of materials not used in conventional LED lighting systems in novel ways to achieve the aforementioned.

摘要: As lighting systems age the need for retrofits—namely where newer lighting technology is used to replace older or different technology, but where a direct replacement is not possible without some kind of modification to the rest of the lighting system—increases. The residential lighting retrofit market is well established with a one-for-one light source replacement approach that is widely embraced; for example, a table lamp with a failed incandescent bulb can be readily replaced with an LED bulb despite the disparate power requirements because of the onboard driver system, and this avoids having to modify the lamp itself, the outlet, incoming power, etc. No such solution exists for specialized lighting systems such as sports and wide area lighting systems. The present invention is directed to such a solution, and one which is cost effective, easy to implement, and customizable to meet the varying site requirements of such specialized systems.

摘要: A self-healing overtemp circuit is described and illustrated comprising a temperature sensing circuit, a voltage sensing circuit, and optionally, a current sensing circuit. A lower cost, simplified alternative overtemp circuit is also discussed. The self-healing overtemp circuit is designed to ramp down power in an LED lighting system (or other electrical circuit) in response to a sensed or impending thermal runaway (and optionally, overcurrent) event. Said thermal runaway and overcurrent events may be a result of failure of one or more components (e.g., driver, active cooling means) of the lighting system. The self-healing overtemp circuit further comprises means of restoring power to said LEDs in a manner that avoids (i) a perceivably bright flash of light or (ii) increased risk of component failure.
