    摘要: The railroad crossing tie-down system of the present invention includes anchor plates which are attached permanently to railroad ties with the side margins of the anchor plates projecting outwardly from the sides of the ties. The crossing elements which will be attached by the system have openings passing through them at selected locations midway between adjacent ties. Cross tie beams having nuts located at their centers have a length which is slightly greater than the distance between adjacent ties. Elongate bolts which extend through the openings in the crossing elements have threaded extremeties which will engage the nuts. Before the crossing elements are installed on the anchor plates the bolts are inserted through the openings and the cross tie beams are attached to them and are oriented so that the cross tie beams are parallel with the ties. After the crossing elements have been installed on the anchor pads the bolts are tightened which first causes the cross tie beams to rotate until their ends become jammed against the sides of the ties and then to be drawn up against the overhanging side margins of the anchor plates. Thus the side margins are squeezed between the crossing elements and the cross tie beams which attaches the crossing elements to the anchor plates.

    摘要: A railroad grade crossing system includes an integral concrete pad that has a pair of spaced-apart cavities located in its upper surface. The cavities have planar bottom surfaces that support rails with their heads flush with the top surface of the pad. The cavities have outer side walls that conform to the shape of the rails. The rails are placed in the cavities against the outer side walls and are secured in place by a rail anchor system. The remainder of the cavities are filled with elastomeric liners that have outer side walls that are shaped to conform to the shape of the rails. The inserts are held in place in the cavities by frictional engagement between bulbous gripping heads, secured to anchors located in the pads, that frictionally interfit into conforming holes located in the inserts.

    摘要: In a system that extends a paved roadway across a pair of parallel, spaced apart rails using a gauge panel between the pair of rails and a pair of field panels between each rail and the roadway, edge protectors of the present invention are used to protect the edges of the panels. A seal is positioned between each rail and a longitudinal rail edge. In one embodiment, a longitudinal rail edge protector has a surface leg that is substantially even with the top surface of the panel and a securing leg that secures the seal to the panel either by being embedded in the seal or by covering or overlapping the seal. In an alternate embodiment, a longitudinal rail edge protector has a surface leg, a securing leg, and a securing extension that is embedded into the seal to secure the seal to the panel. In another alternate embodiment, the securing edge protector is flat and is embedded into the seal to secure the seal to the panel. Anchors may be used to attach the longitudinal rail edge protector to the panel. A longitudinal roadway edge may be protected by a longitudinal roadway edge protector that has a surface leg substantially even with the top surface of the panel. Each transverse edge of each panel may be protected by a transverse edge protector that has a surface leg substantially even with the top surface of the panel.
