摘要: A protruding nozzle assembly, mounted in a side wall of a swimming pool in communication with a source of water, will eject through a nozzle of a nozzle housing a stream of water at a predetermined angle relative to the adjacent side wall surface. During each erection and retraction of the nozzle housing precipitated by initiation and cessation of water flow to the nozzle assembly, the nozzle housing will rotate incrementally to provide a plurality of streams of water defining a fan-like area from each nozzle as such nozzle comes into fluid communication with an opening in a cover enclosing the nozzle housing. Each nozzle is canted to a different angle above the adjacent surface to assist in cleaning sloping parts of the side wall/bottom surface junction and to assist in cleaning any adjacent structures extending from the side wall.

摘要: A modular ozone generator includes an ultraviolet (UV) lamp within a chamber for converting some of the oxygen molecules in air to ozone molecules. The air is introduced through an inlet at a high point of the chamber and discharged through an outlet at a low point of the chamber to increase the proportion of ozone molecules relative to the oxygen molecules discharged due to the higher density ozone molecules migrating downwardly. The introduced air is conveyed through a diffuser to provide multiple streams of air flowing about the lamp to enhance irradiation of the oxygen molecules and form ozone molecules. A second or more ozone generator modules are beneath the first ozone generator module with an interlocking mechanism to align the outlet of an upper ozone generator with the inlet of a lower ozone generator module. The number of cascaded ozone generator modules forming a vertical stack is a function of the concentration (and amount) of ozone molecules sought to be generated. Readily removable end caps for each ozone generator module accommodate repair and replacement of any and all internal components with or without dismounting the ozone generator module from its supporting structure. Slidably mounted tabs accommodate attachment of the ozone generator modules to hard points of the supporting structure.

摘要: A swimming pool pop-up fitting having a pop-up head responsive to the intermittent application of water under pressure to reciprocate between retracted and projected positions for directing a jet of water over the adjacent inner surface of a swimming pool from a nozzle in the head.The pop-up fitting includes a fixed retainer having cams that are engageable by camming pins carried by the nozzle head to incrementally rotate the head during its movement between retracted and projected positions. The pins can be removed and the head constrained against rotation to convert the head from a rotary head to a pop-up head which is rotationally stationary or fixed.The pop-up head includes a stem which mounts the nozzle. The nozzle has diametrically opposed nozzle openings which are selectively alignable with an opening in the stem. Location of an insert in one of the nozzle openings reduces its diameter so that selective positioning of the nozzle insert adjacent the stem opening converts the fitting from a high water flow rate to a lower water flow rate.The nozzle is retractable into a relatively large diameter nozzle recess located above a smaller stem recess which receives the stem. The wall defining the nozzle recess is provided with camming surfaces or cams which, because of the ample space available, are made relatively large and consequently more durable and more sensitive to the camming action of the nozzle pins. Also, location of the cams in the large nozzle recess presents a minimum obstruction to water flow and promotes higher water flow rates through the fitting.

摘要: A recessed incrementally rotating nozzle assembly is located in a wall or bottom surface of a swimming pool in fluid communication through a conduit with a source of water under pressure from a valve, which valve periodically releases water into the conduit. Each time water flows, a nozzle housing is raised to eject a stream of water. As the nozzle housing rises, it is incrementally rotated by a pin engaging a saw tooth member of a cam ring. Upon cessation of flow, the nozzle housing is retracted and during retraction the nozzle housing is further incrementally rotated by the pin engaging another saw tooth member of the cam ring. After a predetermined degree of angular rotation, a cam reverser slidably reorients protrusions guiding the pin into and out of the saw tooth members to cause the pin to be guided by the opposite side of the saw tooth members and thereby cause reversal of the direction of rotation of the nozzle housing. After the predetermined degree of rotation in the reverse direction has occurred, the direction of rotation is again reversed by the cam reverser. The angle through which rotation occurs is readily adjusted by substituting an appropriately configured pattern cam. The fan of water streams ejected may be readily reoriented to correspond with an area of interest by unlocking the position of a cam ring, angularly reorienting the cam ring and locking it in its new position.

摘要: The swimming pool floor or spa floor drain assembly of the present invention includes a drain body having a mouth positionable in proximity to the pool wall to serve as a fluid flow inlet, a spaced apart fluid flow outlet positionable below the mouth and a sidewall interconnecting the mouth with the outlet to define a fluid flow chamber. The cross sectional area of the fluid flow chamber decreases from the mouth to the base. A fluid deflecting plug includes a comparatively large area top and a comparatively small area base. A sidewall interconnects the top and base to form the plug with a cross sectional area decreasing from the top to the base. A support structure positions the plug within the drain body such that at least a substantial portion of the plug sidewall is spaced apart from the drain body sidewall to define a fluid flow channel having a first comparatively larger cross sectional area in proximity to the drain body mouth and a second comparatively smaller cross sectional area in proximity to the drain body outlet. The variation in the cross sectional area from the drain body mouth to the drain body outlet provides a lower fluid flow velocity at the mouth than at the outlet when fluid is transferred from the pool through the floor drain assembly.

摘要: A hydraulic suction fuse is mounted in a conventional debris collection trap of a swimming pool, spa or the like, to significantly reduce or eliminate any suction force on the bottom or side wall mounted drain of the swimming pool, spa or the like, as a result of the drain becoming essentially wholly covered by a body part of a person or other drain clogging article. Alternatively, the hydraulic suction fuse may be mounted in a compartment in line between the drain and a suction pump of a swimming pool, spa or the like. Thereby, a person captured by the suction force at the drain will be released and the person is free to move away from the drain essentially instantaneously upon contact with the drain. The hydraulic suction fuse is self resetting once inflow through the drain is no longer restricted.

摘要: A drain for swimming pools, spas, whirlpool baths, etc., includes a plurality of first orifices in communication with corresponding serpentine passageways to minimize hair or a body part from covering and entering the first orifices to a degree sufficient to entrap a bather. A plurality of second orifices independent of the first orifices and in fluid communication with one another through a peripheral passageway provide a flow of water from the peripheral passageway into the serpentine passageways to create an alternate water inflow path and reduce the pressure differential and possible entrapment that might occur should a body part or hair come in contact with or enter the first orifices. Moreover, a plurality of ridges are attendant the first orifices to reduce the likelihood of direct contact with the first orifices by a body part or hair.
