Abstract: A mechanism is described to resist or prevent rotation of portions of an irrigation sprinkler riser when in its lowered or popped-down position. Hence, when a pedestrian walks over a lowered sprinkler or a lawn mower rolls over a sprinkler, for example, the riser will remain fixed in its rotational orientation relative to its outer body and surroundings. By resisting or preventing this rotation, this rotational locking mechanism prevents damage to the internal transmission, gears, and arc trip mechanisms of the sprinkler, as well as prevents the watering arc from being accidentally adjusted.

Abstract: A nozzle device 1 includes a main body 10 that is formed of a main-body first member 11 and a main-body second member 22 and that has an internal accommodation space 21 in which members are accommodated, a movable nozzle portion 30 that is accommodated in the accommodation space 21, and a coil spring 2 that is disposed between the movable nozzle portion 30 and the main body 10. When air is supplied to a main-body flow-path portion 23 from below, the flow path of the air is changed by the Coanda effect in an air guiding portion 27 such that the air flows along the air guiding portion 27, and the air flows into a gap between an air receiving portion 36 and the air guiding portion 27 and is guided to the air receiving portion 36. The air is pressurized in the air receiving portion 36 and pushes up the movable nozzle portion 30.

Abstract: An extendable drain configured to move between a retracted position and an extended position includes a housing and a drain member. The housing includes a top, a bottom, and a sidewall including an annular stretchable sleeve. The housing defines an interior volume configured to be at least partially filled by a fluid causing the annular sleeve to stretch axially, thereby increasing a distance between the top of the housing and the bottom of the housing. The drain member includes an open top fixed to the top of the housing, an open bottom, and a sidewall extending between the top and the bottom of the drain member through the interior volume of the housing. At least partially filling the interior volume of the housing moves the drain member axially causing the sleeve to stretch, thereby increasing the distance between the top of the housing and the bottom of the housing.

Abstract: Irrigation nozzles are provided that irrigate a full circle coverage area with different maximum throw radiuses. The nozzle may include two bodies, one nested within the other, that acting together form the full circle coverage area. The two bodies collectively define an annular exit orifice with one of the bodies defining the inner radius and the other body defining the outer radius. A flow restrictable inlet may be used to adjust flow through the nozzle and to adjust the maximum throw radius. The nozzle may also include a flow reduction valve to reduce the throw radius from a maximum distance and may be adjusted by actuation of an outer wall of the nozzle. A deflector for use with an irrigation nozzle is also provided.

Abstract: A sprinkler includes a compartment that surrounds its riser portion in an offset or asymmetrical configuration. More specifically, the distance of the compartments walls from those of the riser vary (i.e., increase or decrease) at different locations surrounding the riser. Put another way, the riser is closer to one side of the compartment than other sides of the compartment. This non-concentric configuration allows larger components to fit inside the compartment than would otherwise fit if the riser was symmetrically surrounded by the compartment.

Abstract: A distribution valve of an in-floor pool cleaning system is provided. The distribution valve includes a housing having an inlet port and a plurality of outlet ports. A turbine within the housing rotates about a shaft in response to fluid flowing through the inlet port. The turbine is releasably coupled to a gear mechanism, and the gear mechanism is releasably coupled to a distribution valve disk, the disk having an aperture therein. As the turbine rotates, the gear mechanism also rotates and drives the rotation of the disk around the shaft. The rotation of the disk sequentially places the aperture over one of the plurality of outlet ports, thus allowing fluid to flow out of the outlet port over which the aperture is positioned, but restricting fluid flow into any of the outlet ports that are covered by the disk.
