    摘要: An automatic cannon, especially for cylindrical, telescoped shells, comprises a receiver in which is rotatably mounted an interconnected gun barrel and barrel extension or rotor. The rotor is connected to a power source, which may be an external source, for being driven at a relatively uniform rotational velocity for firing. A chamber having two laterally spaced apart, feed through, shell-holding cavities, is radially slidably mounted in a centrally located, transverse rotor aperture. Three cooperative camming means, responsive to rotor rotation, cause shell feeding, firing and ejection. Shell camming means simultaneously transport shells from an associated feeder into the chamber cavities and fired shell casings from the chamber cavities to a receiver ejection port. Chamber camming means cause the chamber to slide radially, while rotating, so that each of the shell holding cavities trace out a preferably cardioid-shaped path, the cavities being aligned with barrel for shell firing at the cusp of the path so that a preselected firing dwell time of the cavities at the firing position is provided. Shells are fed into the cavities and fired casings are pushed from the cavities when the cavities are out of alignment with the barrel. Firing pin camming means operate a rotor-mounted firing pin in a manner that shells are fired as soon as they are moved by the chamber into the firing position. Preferably first and second camming means are generally symmetrical so that the gun can be operated in either rotor rotational direction, with shells being fed forwardly for one rotational direction and rearwardly for the opposite rotational direction.

    摘要: A cylindrical rotor having a continuous spiral cam slot formed in its periphery reciprocates a breech block to drive rounds of ammunition into a barrel, to fire the round and to extract the expended cartridges after firing. A cam on the front end of the rotor controls movement of a lock which temporarily locks the breech block during the firing operation. Ejector pins on the rotor thrust an ejected cartridge sideways as the breech block is being reciprocated rearwardly. A cam on the rear of the rotor controls the feeding ammunition into the path of the breech block.

    摘要: An automatic gun is provided with a reciprocating bolt carrier having cam surfaces extending along its exterior for reciprocating a follower which operates an ammunition feed mechanism. A lower cam surface is formed directly on the bolt carrier and an upper cam surface is formed on the upper surface of an elongated ramp pivotally mounted on the bolt carrier. The ramp is movable between two positions to cause the follower to follow the lower cam surface when the bolt carrier moves forwardly and to follow the upper cam surface when the carrier reverses. The slope of the cam surfaces is such that the follower moves through its total downward return stroke when engaging the forward portion of the lower cam surface and then is gradually advanced upwardly during the remainder of its contact with the lower cam surface and throughout its entire contact with the upper cam surface.

    摘要: The automatic gun receiver combination includes a recoiling barrel, bolt and bolt carrier, two ammunition feeding means, recoil assembly and buffer assembly. The recoiling barrel reciprocates axially in the receiver forwardly of the ammunition feeding means. A bolt is reciprocated axially past the feeding means by a recoiling bolt carrier. The bolt is also rotated into and out of a position in which it is locked to the barrel. Two cams extend along the length of the bolt carrier to cooperate with cam followers on each of the two ammunition feeding means, either of which may be selected to feed ammunition into the receiver. The recoil assembly is coupled between the barrel and receiver both for buffering recoil and counterrecoil of the barrel and for accelerating the bolt carrier in recoil relative to the barrel. The buffer assembly at the rear of the receiver both buffers the recoil force of the bolt and bolt carrier and mounts a sear, selectively engageable with the bolt carrier, such that when the sear and bolt carrier are engaged, the resulting interruption of the counterrecoil of the bolt and bolt carrier is buffered.
