    摘要: In a controlled deflection roll having a roll shell rotatable about a stationary carrier and braced by one or more support elements against the stationary carrier, the roll shell comprises an inner roll shell part and an outer roll shell part which, during operation of the controlled deflection roll, form a press or force fit with respect to one another, for instance, due to excess pressure in the interior of the controlled deflection roll or due to elastic pre-biasing of the parts of the roll shell. Upon pressure relief or the existence of negative pressure within the controlled deflection roll a play or clearance is formed between the outer roll shell part and the inner roll shell part of the roll shell which enables dismantling and exchange of the outer roll shell part of the roll shell without the need to dismantle the controlled deflection roll or to remove such from the machine.

    摘要: Titanium slag and ilmenite are subjected to a parallel treatment with sulphuric acid obtained by mixing different proportions of sulphuric acid having concentrations of about 98.5% by weight and about 85% by weight, respectively. The reaction mixtures have a temperature slightly below a predetermined starting temperature and the reactions are started by adding small quantities of superheated steam having a temperature above the predetermined starting temperature. The thus obtained solutions are separated from the respective treatment residues and combined. The combined solutions are further processed for obtaining titanium dioxide. The mother liquor constitutes sulphuric acid of a concentration in the range of about 23% by weight and containing metal sulphates. This mother liquor is concentrated to a sulphuric acid concentration of approximately 85% by weight and recycled. The obtained metal sulphates are roasted and the roast gases further processed to obtain highly concentrated sulphuric acid which is recycled to the titanium slag treatment whereas the excess recycled about 85% sulphuric acid constitutes the main component used for the ilmenite treatment. The weak acid obtained from the mother liquor thus is almost entirely re-used in an economical manner.

    摘要: During the melt spinning process for producing metal foils having an amorphous structure, molten metal is cast through a slot-like nozzle onto a surface or wall which is rapidly moved past the nozzle. A particularly rapid quenching and cooling rate of the solidifying melt is achieved by providing cooling support elements which are supplied with a cooling pressure medium, on one side of the moved surface or wall and which aide is located opposite to or remote from the nozzle. Advantageously, the surface or wall is constructed as a thin-walled cylindrical shell or tube which is elastically deformable to some extent. In its shell interior, there are provided a number of rows of cooling support elements which may be controlled by thickness sensors and temperature profile sensors. There is thus rendered possible, the continuous production of amorphous metal foils.

    摘要: In a rotary printing press with a printing cylinder and a counter roller, such as an impression cylinder, for example, and a print web guided between them, faultless print quality across the entire width is attained, even with an extremely wide print web and a correspondingly slim printing cylinder. The printing cylinder is provided with a fixed support and a jacket, which is rotatable around it, and is supported by a row of support elements with a printing pressure which is controlled individually or in groups. With this arrangement, a uniform printing pressure profile across the print web width and, simultaneously, a print gap which is generally uniform are attained. Deformations and displacements of the printing cylinder jacket cross-wise to the printing plane are avoided in that additional cross-bracing elements for exerting a restoring force on the printing cylinder jacket cross-wise to the printing plane are provided. The restoring force of the cross-bracing elements is controlled by position sensors or bearing pressure sensors in such a way that the position of the printing cylinder jacket is maintained even with particularly lengthy and slim printing cylinders. Oscillations of the printing cylinder are prevented by hydrostatic support elements which have a damping effect.

    摘要: The controlled deflection roll comprises a rotatable roll shell supported at a stationary support member by means of a plurality of hydrostatic pressure elements. The hydrostatic pressure elements are sealingly movably guided by guide structure, for example, bores, which define cylinder chambers. Each cylinder chamber is connected by a feed system comprising a feed channel to a source of a hydraulic pressure medium. Between each feed channel and the related hydrostatic pressure element, there is arranged a damping body provided with at least one throttle location, for example throttle bores, through which the hydraulic pressure medium can flow. The damping body defines essentially the only connection between the feed channel and the cylinder chamber. Possibly occurring oscillations or vibrations of the rotatable roll shell relative to the stationary support member are damped by these damping bodies and, accordingly, transmission of such oscillations or vibrations to the hydraulic pressure medium feed system is prevented.

    摘要: A printing cylinder for a rotary printing press has a support, which is fixed against relative rotation, and a jacket rotatable around the latter, which is supported by a row of support elements, disposed axially side-by-side and individually controllable and radially displaceable at least in part in order to attain an even printing pressure across the width of the cylinder while avoiding any bending of the jacket. The jacket is constructed of three coaxial tubes, an interior tube, a filler body and a printing forme support, at least two of which, or even all three, in the rest state, are separated by a small gap so that they can be easily pulled off each other and exchanged in order to change the printing press over to another print pattern or another diameter or register. By charging the sealed interior chamber with pressure, for example with the use of the fluid pressure required for the support elements, the gap(s) are closed, so that the individual jacket parts have a press fit with each other and rotate together. By reducing the interior pressure to lower pressures, for example atmospheric pressure or a partial vacuum, it is possible to open the gap(s) again selectively.
