摘要: Various embodiments are directed to transgenic plants, including transgenic tobacco plants and derivative seeds, genetically modified to impede the transport of Cadmium (Cd) from the root system to aerial portions of transgenic plants by reducing the expression levels of HMA-related transporters. Various embodiments are directed to transgenic tobacco plants genetically modified to stably express a RNAi construct encoding RNAi polynucleotides that enable the degradation of endogenous NtHMA RNA variants. Reduced expression of NtHMA transporters in transgenic plants results in substantially reduced content of Cadmium (Cd) in the leaf lamina. Various consumable products that are substantially free or substantially reduced in Cd content can be produced by incorporating leaves derived from transgenic tobacco plants modified to reduce the expression of NtHMA transporters.

摘要: A wrapper of a smoking article includes a base web and at least one transverse banded region. The banded region includes a first zone, a second zone and a third zone of add-on material. The second zone has about 25% to about 75% less add-on material than the first zone and the third zone. The banded region is about 5 mm to about 9 mm wide and the second zone is centrally located between the first zone and the third zone. The second zone includes a plurality of dots of the add-on material spaced from adjacent dots in the second zone by a distance greater than a distance between adjacent dots in the first zone and the third zone.

摘要: A semiconductor substrate processing apparatus comprises a vacuum chamber in which a semiconductor substrate may be processed, a showerhead module through which process gas from a process gas source is supplied to a processing zone of the vacuum chamber, and a substrate pedestal module. The substrate pedestal module includes a platen, a stem having a side wall defining a cylindrical interior region thereof, a lower surface, and an upper end that supports the platen, and an adapter having a side wall defining a cylindrical interior region thereof and an upper surface that supports the stem. The lower surface of the stem includes a gas inlet in fluid communication with a respective gas passage located in the side wall of the stem and a gas outlet located in an annular gas channel in the upper surface of the adapter. The upper surface of the adapter includes an inner groove located radially inward of the gas outlet and an outer groove located radially outward of the inner groove. The inner groove and the outer groove have respective O-rings therein so as to form a vacuum seals during processing. The platen includes at least one platen gas passage in fluid communication with a respective gas passage in the side wall of the stem through which backside gas can be supplied to a region below a semiconductor substrate when supported on the upper surface of the platen during processing.

摘要: A flow metering apparatus possessing a housing with a chamber including and entrance and an exit for the passageway of fluid therethrough. A flow directing body is located in the chamber and includes first and second conical portions positioned on either side of a cylindrical portion. The body is supported in the chamber in a fixed manner. An orifice is located within the chamber upstream of the first conical portion of the body and is of a predetermined size to control the passage of fluid through the housing chamber. First and second sensors sense the dynamic pressures at the apex of the first conical portion and at a position between the body and a wall of the chamber.

摘要: A system and method of calculating chemical usage during a refilling of a supply tank, which includes the steps of providing a chemical system having a first supply tank of known capacity, wherein the tank is mounted upon an electronic scale. A system controller receives a series of signals from the scale relating to the weight of the tank when empty and at various levels of fill. The first supply tank is filled from a source of chemical feed and the fill time for the filling of the first supply tank is obtained. The system controller inputs the series of signals from the scale relating to the weight of the tank when empty and at various levels of fill and calculates a usage during refilling based on a feed rate times the fill time.

摘要: A method and system for controlling the wavelength of light emitted by a tunable laser. The system includes a wavelength tuner that provides information of a desired wavelength; a coupler for tapping a portion of the light from the tunable laser; and an apparatus for measuring the actual wavelength of the light. The apparatus takes the portion of the light as an input signal and splits the input signal into two beams that are directed through two paths of different optical lengths. Then, the two beams are interfered with each other in order to form a fringe pattern at an observation plane, where the fringe pattern is detected and analyzed to determine the wavelength of the light. A processor compares the difference between the desired and determined wavelengths, and sends a tuning signal to the tunable laser forming a feedback control of the tunable laser.
