摘要: Systems and methods of managing operational system components. Maintenance schedules for each of a number of systems are maintained. A worn component scheduled to be replaced in an initial system is identified. An identified component that is scheduled to be removed from another systems and that is able to replace the worn component is identified. Based on the maintenance schedules associated with the systems, the identified component is able to be refurbished after its scheduled removal from the selected remote system in time to be used as a replacement for worn component when it is scheduled to be removed from the initial system. An indication associated with the identified component is stored that indicates that the identified component is scheduled to be: removed from the other system; refurbished; and installed into the initial system at the time of the scheduled removal of the worn component.

摘要: A system and method for selectable privacy modes are disclosed. A plurality of privacy mode definitions are stored with each privacy mode definition including a respective control state definition for each function in a plurality of functions of an electronic device. The plurality of functions includes at least two of communications functions, sensor functions, application functions, or combinations of these. An input indicating a selected privacy mode definition from within the plurality of privacy mode definitions is received. A respective control state of each function in the plurality of functions is set based on each respective control state definition in the selected privacy mode definition.

摘要: A system and method unlock a passcode-secured device using force detection and haptic feedback. When prompted for a passcode, a user applies a press and hold gesture, applying continuous pressure force, to a surface of the device while receiving tactile feedback at the surface in the form of vibratory pulses. The vibratory pulses continue until the pressure force is released from the surface. The user counts the number of pulses sensed by tactile feedback at the surface until the desired number is obtained, then releases the pressure force from the surface, signaling that the pulse count should be entered as a passcode digit value. The process is repeated for each sequential passcode digit until a passcode is entered in the device. The device unlocks if the entered passcode matches a reference passcode in the device.

摘要: What is disclosed is an object holder for securely retaining a 3-dimensional object while it is being printed in a direct-to-object print system and a direct-to-object print system configured to use various embodiments of the object holder of the present invention. In one embodiment, the object holder comprises a frame configured to slideably traverse a support member positioned parallel to a plane formed by at least one printhead configured to eject marking material on to a surface of an object. A flexible belt is positioned around an inside of the frame to form a circle. One end of the belt is fixed to the frame. An opposite end of the belt passes through an opening in a side of the frame. Pulling the belt through the opening tightens the belt encircled around the object in the frame. A lock prevents the belt from loosening after it has been pulled tight.

摘要: The present disclosure provides an electronic device and a method of operation thereof, in which accidental, careless or unintended user input is mitigated. A sequence of frames is displayed on a touch-sensitive display of the electronic device to depict an image moving in an image path over a time interval. A user touch path, generated in response to the moving image, is sensed over the time interval. The image path is compared with the user touch path to determine a path tracking accuracy and the electronic device is controlled responsive to the determined path tracking accuracy. In this manner, unlocking an electronic device and selection of a device function may be achieved by a single user action.

摘要: A method for generating device specific thumbnails may includes receiving one or more databases on a computing device from a mobile electronic device where the one or more databases include a key file and a data file. The data file may include picture data and the key file may include an index to the picture data. Also, the method may include generating a synchronization set on the computing device wherein the synchronization set includes one or more picture files to be stored on the mobile electronic device. The one or more databases may be transformed to one or more updated databases, wherein the transforming includes updating the key file to index pictures included in the synchronization set and updating the data file to include thumbnails of the pictures included in the synchronization set. The one or more updated databases may be transmitted to the mobile electronic device.

摘要: An apparatus for use in telecommunications system comprises a cache memory shared by multiple clients and a controller for controlling the shared cache memory. A method of controlling the cache operation in a shared cache memory apparatus is also disclosed. The apparatus comprises a cache memory accessible by a plurality of clients and a controller configured to allocate cache lines of the cache memory to each client according to a line configuration. The line configuration comprises, for each client, a maximum allocation of cache lines that each client is permitted to access. The controller is configured to, in response to a memory request from one of the plurality of clients that has reached its maximum allocation of cache lines, allocate a replacement cache line to the client from cache lines already allocated to the client when no free cache lines in the cache are available.
