    摘要: A method, system and a computer program product to increase the availability of an automated data storage library for accessing and storing data storage media are provided. Work requests received by an accessor controller of the library from a host computer are also received and stored by a work request tracking controller. The accessor controller converts the work request into commands necessary to direct an accessor to fulfill the work request, and then sends such commands to an accessor. Upon detection by the work request tracking controller that the so-directed accessor failed to conduct the command issued by the accessor controller, the work request tracking controller reconstructs the work request and sends it to an accessor controller. The provision of a work request tracking controller is a failover mechanism in the event an accessor controller fails to successfully direct an accessor to conduct commands in furtherance of a work request and/or has, for whatever reason, lost the work requests in its queue.

The transmitter may be advantageously implemented within a single carrier transmission scheme, such as a single carrier-frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) uplink transmission scheme.

A battery connector couples to the battery port and communicates through cables with a management bus, a programmable power source and a programmable load. The management bus supports communication with a battery management unit that imitates responses for the information handling system that are expected from a battery. A battery emulator controls the programmable power source and load to provide the information handling system with an expected battery response for confirming proper operation of the information handling system power subsystem without requiring insertion of an actual battery.

    摘要: A spilt backup agent model where a component on a host and a component on the block storage device function together logically to provide a backup agent. In certain embodiments, the mechanism provides a split backup agent model using a NDMP protocol. The NDMP protocol is an industry standard protocol that allows for backup of hosts with a single backup agent that is compatible with multiple independent software vendor (ISV) backup software. Thus with the present invention, proprietary backup software dependent host agents are not required. The NDMP protocol provides for separation of control and data connections where the control path runs between the data server on the host that needs to be backed up and backup software (e.g., a Data Management Application (DMA)) and between the backup device and the backup software. The data path runs between the host and the backup device.

    摘要: An improved system and method is disclosed for making the Common Information Model (CIM), produced by the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF), more flexible and extensible without requiring changes to it or its existing implementations. MultipleInheritance associations are implemented to define extension abstract classes for managed element information and to create static and dynamic add-in classes, all operable to reference the CIM schema class. Ambiguity is mitigated by not allowing properties of different data types to have the same name in super classes that are used for MultipleInheritance associations. Data integrity is facilitated by merging class properties of the same name and data type through the use of a Min algorithm. Concrete user classes are derived from new abstract classes such that management functionality is enabled for managed element properties. A polymorphic object pointer is implemented using a PolymorphicPointer association to facilitate traversal or the resulting class hierarchies and inheritance trees.

    摘要: A power control system includes a current transformer to step down a switch current of a switching power converter. In at least one embodiment, the stepped down current is received by a switching power converter controller. Since the current is received by the controller, the current is not converted into a voltage prior to receipt by the controller in order for the controller to monitor an inductor current of the switching power converter. In at least one embodiment, the controller compares the stepped down switch current with a reference current. In at least one embodiment, the controller includes a voltage converter to convert the switch current into a voltage within the controller. The controller compares the voltage representing the switch current with a reference voltage. The controller can use the current or voltage comparisons to control power factor correction and output voltage regulation of a switching power converter.

A detector determines whether a cable connected to a port provides visual information or receives digital information. A common connector configuration simplifies the connection of multiple displays or devices, such as in a daisy chain configuration.

    摘要: A method for enterprise application integration that uses “connectors” that can be instantiated via downloading (e.g., using Java® or other such technologies) to provide interfaces to respective disparate database systems. The databases systems may comprise any variety of now or heretofore known systems, e.g. SAP, Oracle, and so forth. The connectors can, for example, translate between a native language (or API) of the respective database systems and an internal language/protocol of the enterprise application integration system. To this end, the connectors can utilize a scripting language to access the respective database systems. Data retrieved from the database systems can be stored in a central data store in the form of RDF triplets, from which directed graphs can be generated for to generate presentations consolidated from the multiple database systems.
