    摘要: A conference arrangement for use with a telephone switching center is disclosed. The conference arrangement comprises a transmission bridge for interconnecting an originator''s port circuit with a plurality of conferee port circuits. A dial pulse register and a multifrequency receiver and decoder are associated with the originator''s port circuit and each conferee port is equipped with an automatic dialer that can be programmed to summon the conferees via regular and alternate telephone numbers. The originator is connected to the bridge by dialing the telephone number assigned to the bridge including a digit for establishing the precedence level of the conference call and a pattern number which selects the group of conferees to be summoned by the automatic dialers. Once connected to the conference arrangement, the originator can transmit tones to the multifrequency receiver and decoder to selectively control all ports of the bridge and any other similar bridges that are connected to the bridge via a conferee port. Among other things, the originator can transfer himself and a selected conferee to an ad-lib bus for private consultation, place the conference in a broadcast mode and insert different pattern numbers in selected ones of the automatic dialers to summon other conferees. The originator can also select a conferee port mode to directly dial the telephone number of a conferee.

    摘要: A permanent signal line lockout arrangement for crossbar switching systems is disclosed in which a silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) is inserted in series with the operate path of the line relay. When a customer lifts his handset to initiate a dial tone service request, the on-hook to off-hook transition triggers the SCR into conduction by means of a capacitive coupling network, and the line relay operates through the SCR. When a permanent signal condition is detected, the line is connected to a permanent signal holding trunk that is modified to remove the holding ground from the sleeve lead. Removal of the ground releases the hold magnet which thereupon reconnects the line relay to the permanent signal line. However, because the capacitor coupling network became charged when the sleeve lead holding ground was present, the SCR is not retriggered by the onhook to off-hook transient that results when the line relay is reconnected. The line is thus held out of service for the duration of the permanent signal condition without need to maintain any switching connection to a permanent signal trunk.

Following seizure of a central office line by a PBX station dialing ''''9'''', the call denial circuit distinguishes between local and toll calls by having a counter and decoder register and check the first digit dialed over the line to determine if it is a toll access digit such as ''''0'''' or ''''1''''. The denial circuit includes a pulse suppressor circuit having a resistor-capacitor filter which prevents spurious signals on the line from being detected as dial pulses. Following registration of the first dialed digit, the time characteristic of this filter is changed to prevent the counter from registering dial pulses of a subsequently dialed digit but allowing a response to an on-hook condition on the line to release the denial circuit.

    摘要: A crossbar telephone switching system wherein one of a number of markers, under the control of a called directory number registered therein, seizes a number group circuit and causes the number group circuit to translate the called number into the equipment location of the called line, the nature (class) of the called line, and the busy-idle condition of the called line. If the called line is found to be busy at a time when all markers are busy, the marker connects to a common register, registers therein the busy called number, releases from the common register, and initiates the usual busy-back switching function. All other markers having then registered therein called numbers requiring number group translation and busy-idle testing connect to the common register and compare their called numbers with the called number in the common register. Any marker having a matching called number releases from the common register and initiates a busy-back switching function without seizing a number group circuit for translation and without performing line testing. Any marker not having a matching number releases from the common register and seizes a number group circuit in the normal manner. After a suitable time delay to allow all markers to finish the comparison of called numbers, the common register clears itself of the called number registered therein and renders itself available for another such use.

    摘要: A circuit is disclosed for screening misdialed calls in a local level hunting connector which may have line appearances both for normal subscribers as well as for a subscriber receiving an especially high volume of calls. The normal subscribers appearing on the connector are assigned directory numbers ending in 1 while the high volume subscriber is assigned a specific ''''tens'''' digit. The connector is prevented from responding directly to any tens digit until the first pulse of the units digit is received. The connector is then ''''unlocked'''' and permitted to hunt as it normally would. However, if a subsequent pulse is received, indicating a units digit other than 1, the normally grounded commutator segment corresponding to the tens digit becomes ungrounded and a commutator segment connected to an intercept position is grounded unless the tens digit is the specific one assigned to the high volume subscriber.

    摘要: A telephone switching arrangement for apartment houses whereby the apartment tenant telephones utilized for normal communication through the central office are also utilized for lobby-apartment conversations and control of lobby door opening mechanisms. The lobby call to a tenant''s idle telephone is identified by a distinct ringing signal separate from that normally applied on central office calls. If the tenant line is busy, the lobby call will apply an alerting tone to the busy connection and the tenant may, by means of a monitoring common line relay and holding bridge, place the prior central office call on hold and converse with the lobby.
