    摘要: In one embodiment, a head-end node of a tunnel, relative to a tail-end node, receives a trace request, and in response, generates an out-of-tunnel trace request based on the trace-request. The trace request is transmitted in-tunnel to the tail-end node, while also transmitting the out-of-tunnel trace request to at least one subsequent node. The head-end node may then receive a trace response from the tail-end node based on the in-tunnel trace request, as well as a trace response from each of the subsequent nodes based on the out-of-tunnel trace request.

    摘要: A method, system, and computer program product for dynamically updating a routing table in a virtual private network including a concentrator with a routing table and one or more security associations is provided. A change is identified in the virtual private network, and related network information is also identified. A notification update message is created, including (i) a type of change to be made to the routing table based on to the identified change and (ii) the related network information. The notification update message is sent to the concentrator, which updates the routing table according to the notification update message. During the updating of the routing table of the concentrator, current security associations of the virtual private network tunnel are maintained.

For example, an originating node may send a single system management request along a path to a destination node using a network control protocol. Each computer system along the network path may analyze the network control protocol message to determine whether the message contains a system management request. If a system management request is found in the message, the computer system may perform the system management function identified in the request, and respond to it.

When the channel requested by the request for a channel change is not being provided to the settop box then the request for a channel change is immediately sent to an SDV server in communication with the settop box.
