摘要: A network element in a data center includes a plurality of servers and a switch. The switch includes a plurality of physical ports, a packet-forwarding table, and an application program interface (API) for modifying a packet-forwarding behavior of the switch. The packet-forwarding table determines a packet-traffic distribution across the servers by mapping packet traffic arriving at the switch to the plurality of ports. Each port of the plurality of physical ports is in communication with one of the servers. The network element further includes means for determining in real time the packet-traffic distribution across the servers, and means for dynamically changing the packet-traffic distribution across the servers in response to the determined packet-traffic distribution by modifying the packet-forwarding behavior of the switch through the API of the switch.

摘要: A data transmitting device configured to transmit data to a data receiving device via a communication line, the data transmitting device determines, based on first bandwidth information indicating a first bandwidth of the communication line from the data transmitting device to the data receiving device and first load information indicating a first load of the data receiving device, whether a first process is to be executed on first data before the first data is transmitted to the data receiving device, when it is determined that the first process is to be executed, executes the first process on the first data, and transmits, to the data receiving device, the first data on which the first process is executed, and when it is not determined that the first process is to be executed, transmits the first data to the data receiving device without executing the first process.

摘要: A system and method are provided that allocate bandwidth on a global large scale network. Bandwidth allocation is based on the predicted bandwidth demands of the network users. Each user may be assigned one of a plurality of different values that determines the amount of bandwidth allocated to that user. In instances where an application runs on behalf of a plurality of remote clients, a system and method is provided that allows for the allocation of bandwidth based each individual remote client.

摘要: In one embodiment, a service enabled network (SEN) controller receives, from a control plane of a network service device, service instructions for corresponding network services. The SEN controller may then distribute the service instructions for the network services to appropriate network access devices within the computer network, such that each of the network access devices may correspondingly implement the network services at their respective data planes, thus providing a distributed implementation of the network service within the computer network.

摘要: A system for determining a worst case latency for a specific information flow that is part of a plurality of information flows and a worst case backlog for a specific queue that is part of a plurality of queues is disclosed. The plurality of information flows and plurality of queues are part of a configuration. The system performs operations including determining a maximum busy period length for the configuration. The operations include determining a set of candidate starting times for the configuration based on the maximum busy period length. The operations further include determining a maximum layout for a plurality of information flows within the configuration. The operations include updating the worst case latency and the worst case backlog based on the maximum layout. Finally, the operations include determining the worst case latency for the specific information flow and the worst case backlog for a specific queue.
