    摘要: One embodiment may take the form of a method of operating a computing device to provide presence based functionality. The method may include operating the computing device in a reduced power state and collecting a first set of data from a first sensor. Based on the first set of data, the computing device determines if an object is within a threshold distance of the computing device and, if the object is within the threshold distance, the device activates a secondary sensor to collect a second set of data. Based on the second set of data, the device determines if the object is a person. If the object is a person, the device determines a position of the person relative to the computing device and executes a change of state in the computing device based on the position of the person relative to the computing device. If the object is not a person, the computing device remains in a reduced power state.

    摘要: Combining, to a singularity, from a plurality of anatomical sites, and over a plurality of heart cycles a collection of selected heart-functionality parameter measurements, such as EMAT, LVST, PADT, and AAFT measurements, including (a) collecting ECG and heart-sound data from plural anatomical sites, (b) computer processing such data to acquire plural, per-site, per-heart-cycle, nominal values for the selected parameter, (c) utilizing arithmetic mean and selected variance calculations related to such nominal values processing, and determined weight coefficients, computing weighted nominal values, (d) computing a weighted, nominal-value average of all of the nominal values by summing all of the weighted values and dividing that sum by the sum of all of the weight coefficients, and (e) presenting the computed weighted average as the combined, singularity value of the selected heart-functionality parameter.

    摘要: A wavelet transform and pattern recognition method for analyzing a subject's heart sounds including (a) obtaining subject-related heart-sound data utilizing a first sampling rate, (b) obtaining simultaneously existing subject ECG data, including pre-selected ECG fiducial data, and (c) processing such obtained data including, relative to the heart-sound data, (1) computing the maximum-overlap discrete wavelet transform (MODWT) for a preselected number of wavelet scales, (2) locating the peaks in time of the absolute values of the MODWT coefficients respecting each of a such scales, and (3), for each such scale, (i) interpolating between the located peaks, and (ii) subsampling each interpolation result at a second sampling rate which no greater than the mentioned first sampling rate.

Practice of the invention, which is illustrated herein in the context of heart-produced signals, is based upon gathering, and competitively processing audio signals collected simultaneously from two adjacent anatomical sites. Competitive processing examines these two signals in light of certain selected “quality” parameters, and thereby selects the better signal at a user-selected point in time.
