摘要:
A temperature indicator adapted to be attached to an object to be monitored consists of a housing containing a temperature responsive material and an embedded indicating object. Upon reaching the appropriate temperature, the temperature responsive material flows, allowing both the indicating object and a portion of the temperature responsive material to descend into the lower portion of the housing. Upon cooling the temperature responsive material resolidifies in the lower portion of the housing, thus providing a permanent record that the desired temperature has been reached.

A negative contrast agent for MRI is an aqueous suspension having a quantity of barium sulfate between 25 and 30 percent by weight and a quantity of bentonite between 2.5 and 3.5 percent by weight in which a substantial portion of the barium sulfate particles have a mean diameter of at least 10 microns. This negative contrast agent provides dark imaging in a T2 weighted pulse sequence; namely a relative signal intensity (RSI) approaching zero. It also provides a relative signal intensity (RSI) of under 30 percent of that of a reference that approximates tissue in a T1 weighted pulse sequence.

In accordance with the present invention an ink formulation capable of monitoring steam, dry heat and ethylene oxide gas sterilization processes is disclosed. The formulation comprises selected substituted pyridenes, quinolines or isoquinolines as the active compound in combination with a nitrocellulose solution and a solvent.
摘要:
A biological test pack adapted for use in testing the efficacy of an ethylene oxide sterilization process is described. The test pack is a clear plastic tray containing an sterilization sensitive ink which has been imprinted on a card which faces out of the bottom of the plastic tray. In addition, the tray contains a plastic syringe which holds a biological indicator. On top of the plastic syringe, absorbent paper is placed. The entire pack has a Tyvek sheet which seals it until it is used. The plastic tray is molded into a shape for holding the various items in particularly desirable locations. Accordingly, a disposable test pack which is uniformly manufactured and which should yield consistent results, is described. It can be used either as a general purpose routine test pack or as a validation challenge test pack.
