The assemblies support a seat and handlebars for fore and aft movement. The assemblies may include a receiver with an elongate aperture with a slider positioned therein. The slider defines a first channel receiving a moveable member. A handle is operably coupled with the member to move the member within the channel in a first direction or a second direction such that a frictionally coupling is caused between the slider and the receiver when the slider is moved in the first direction and releases the coupling when the slider is moved in the second direction.

A user's exertion level may have several components impacting the stride length provided by the machine, such as leg power, torso power, and (in versions of the exercise apparatus with arm supports or exercise components) arm power. The exercise device may include a lockout device that selectively eliminates the variable stride features of the exercise device and allows the user to exercise in a stepping motion.

    摘要: The present invention provides for a variable stride exercise device having a variable size close curved striding path during use. The exercise device described and depicted herein utilizes various configurations of linkage assemblies, cam members, and other components, connected with a frame to allow a user to dynamically vary his stride path during exercise. An exercise device conforming to aspects of the present invention provides a foot path that adapts to the change in stride length rather than forcing the user into a fixed size path.     摘要: An exercise bicycle including a frame supporting a flywheel. A magnetic brake assembly includes a brake arm pivotally mounted to the frame and including at least one magnet. The magnet is positioned adjacent to the flywheel and not in contact with the flywheel, the position of the magnet relative to the flywheel inducing a magnetic braking force on the flywheel. The pivot of the brake arm is positioned such that a pivot force vector induced on the brake arm by the magnetic braking acts to pivot the brake arm away from the flywheel.

    摘要: An exercise bicycle including a frame supporting a wheel such as a flywheel. A brake assembly (or resistance assembly) including a brake arm is pivotally coupled with the frame. The brake arm assembly includes a brake pad engaging the flywheel to alter the power needed to rotate the flywheel during exercise. A brake adjustment assembly is operably coupled with the brake arm. The adjustment assembly includes a shaft rotatably supported on the frame and mounted to be translated toward the flywheel while being restricted from translating away from the flywheel. A spring is positioned between the threaded shaft and the brake arm whereby rotation of the shaft increases or decreases compression of the spring thereby increasing or decreasing a frictional force between the brake pad and the flywheel.
