摘要： Various exemplary embodiments relate to a method and related security evaluation system including one or more of the following: determining, at the security evaluation system, a plurality of security dimensions to be evaluated for the target system; determining a reference value for each of the plurality of security dimensions, wherein each reference value is representative of a minimum target value for the associated security dimension of the target system; evaluating the security of the target system to generate an actual value for each of the plurality of security dimensions; and generating a security index representation that displays the reference value and the actual value of each of the plurality of security dimensions for the target system.

摘要： A method and apparatus for managing a network includes detecting occurrence of a network event associated with a new network condition including unplanned and planned macro-events associated with network elements and communication links of the network. The network event is classified as being associated with at least one of a network element failure, communications link failure, and a security breach. In response to the network event exceeding a network degradation threshold, the network event is identified as a network degradation event, and an alert is sent to a network administrator to normalize the network degradation event.

摘要： The provisioning of a multimedia application is enhanced by using a communications protocol which defines a number of different functions and which allows a multimedia application to be segmented into a plurality of logical blocks such that a user may enter a request characterizing one such function and, in response thereto, the system performs the function with respect to a particular one of the logical blocks. The underlying multimedia system is also enhanced by arranging it so that an application provider may interact with the system via a telecommunications network for the purpose of, for example, storing the application thereon and/or "debugging" the stored application.
