    摘要: The pseudo-ternary S2m data stream consisting of a sequence of S2m frames (S2mR) is transposed into a binary data stream consisting of a sequence of binary frames (BR). The useful information contained in a binary frame (BR) is then separated from the binary frame (BR) and subsequently compressed. In a following step, the compressed useful information is combined with the uncompressed information of the binary frame (BR) to form a compressed binary frame (KBR). Finally, the compressed binary frames (KBR) are inserted into a transmission packet provided for transmission via the low-voltage network (NSN) and are forwarded to a transmission unit (UEE) for transmission via the low-voltage network (NSN).

    摘要: A method and system for processing a variety of outbound service calls initiated by a network adjunct platform (NAP) over a Small Scale Adjunct Primary Rate Interface (SSA PRI) in a telecommunications network on a call by call basis is disclosed. A outbound service subscriber triggers the NAP to initiate the desired outbound service call. The outbound service call may include, for example, a software defined network call (SDN), an AT&T Digital Link (ADL) call, or a Megacom call or other such suitable outbound service call. The NAP forwards set-up data based on the type of call desired to an originating toll switch (OTS) programmed to accept the set-up data from the NAP. After receipt of the set-up data, the OTS determines if the forwarded set-up data classifies the call as an outbound service call. If the forwarded set-up data contains outbound service parameters, the originating toll switch processes and routes the call initiated by the NAP as the appropriate outbound service call. The outbound service calls may include a local call, a long distance call or an international. The originating toll switch is also able to process and route non-outbound service or regular calls utilizing the same SSA PRI used for the appropriate outbound service calls. The need for separate dedicated trunk groups for each type of outbound service and for each subscriber of such service may be alleviated.

The apparatus can therefore process multiple telephone calls of one or more types simultaneously.

    摘要: An arrangement for adapting a PCM (pulse code modulation) switch to control and communicate with a CDMA (code division multiple access) cell site for communication the wireless CDMA stations that communicate with that cell site. A protocol converter converts between signals for controlling integrated services digital network (ISDN) stations and signals for controlling a cell site, so that the cell site operates as if it were being controlled by a wireless switching center and the switch acts as if it were controlling ISDN stations. In the switch, a switchable connection is established between land based inputs and intermediate ports and a separate set of permanent connections is established between the intermediate ports and the PCM/packet converters. Advantageously, a switch designed to serve ISDN stations can be readily adapted to serve cell sites for serving wireless CDMA stations.
