摘要:
A printing plate which can be repeatedly directly provided with an image and erased and is suitable for a wet offset printing method. The printing plate has a smooth and pore-free surface which is hydrophilic or can be hydrophilized after being provided with an image. The printing plate contains no strong microdipoles and consists of a ceramic, a glass or a metal, in particular of a metal alloy. An erasing and hydrophilizing apparatus preferably integrated in the printing press, repeatedly erases and prepares, i.e. rehydrophilizes, the printing plate for a further image-providing and printing process.

To remove hydrophobic particles from the surface of a hydrophilic printing plate, particularly when the printing plate is used in offset printing, an ionized reactive gas is conducted to the surface of the printing plate, and applied thereto, to cause the hydrophobic particles to form volatile reaction products, which are then removed by suction. The gas can be generated either in a burner, preferably supplied with an oxygen/hydrogen mixture, emitted from nozzles spaced between 10 to 50 mm from the printing plate, in which the printing plate and nozzle are relatively moved at a rate of about 20 mm/sec; or, alternatively, the ionized gas is generated in form of a plasma by a plasma generator, for example a magnetron, operating at 2.45 GHz, which plasma is conducted to the surface of the printing plate in a reaction chamber which is physically sealed with respect to the printing plate, so that the reaction with the hydrophobic particles can there occur. The reaction chamber is coupled to a high-vacuum pump, to maintain a vacuum in the order of about 0.5 mbar above the printing plate and within the reaction chamber.

Reflectance measurements indicative of light reflecting relative to solar module glass can be received. It can be determined whether the reflectance measurements are within tolerance for the solar module glass.

摘要:
A method for producing an erasable printing form by making the outer layer of the printing form from a material containing strong micro-dipoles, preferably a ferroelectric material, in particular a ferroelectric ceramic. In wet offset printing, the non-printing areas of the printing form are rendered hydrophilic by a hydrophilizing agent and they are maintained during the entire printing process. Plate cleaners can, for example, be used as the hydrophilizing agents. The printing form can be erased by a nonpolar solvent and can be reused again by rendering the non-printing areas hydrophilic again.

To permit elimination of dampening rollers or an entire dampener in a lithographic, preferably offset printing machine, the printing form is formed as a cylindrical sleeve or jacket (3) fitted over a core (2), in which the cylindrical sleeve or jacket is formed with a plurality of interconnected pores (5), essentially uniformly distributed over the surface (4) and forming, within the sleeve or jacket, a connected pore fluid transfer network. Dampening fluid is then applied to the interior of the sleeve or jacket, for example from a chamber (6) between the cylindrical core (2) and the inner surface of the sleeve or jacket. The outer surface (4) can be imaged with oleophilic substances, for example by a thermal transfer process. To remove the images, for re-use of the printing form without removal from a printing machine, hot gases for example steam can be applied to the interior of the sleeve or jacket, so that the oleophilic substances at the outside will loosen for easy removal, or spall off.
