摘要: An improved modular server handle mechanism. The handle mechanism provides a translating handle mechanism that does not visibly function like a cam lever, and provides a carry handle solution when transporting the blade. In operation, to remove a blade server, a user pushes a button that releases the handle from a locked position. The handle is then pulled, and the cam levers undock the blade module from the chassis. When the cam motion is complete, the handle “locks out” in an open position to provide a carry handle.

摘要: A system and method for mounting a heat sink associated with an electronics component are disclosed. The disclosure provides a method including connecting a CPU support bracket to a board using one or more support bracket connectors, mounting a CPU to the CPU support bracket, and mounting a heat sink assembly to the CPU support bracket using one or more heat sink connectors configured to mate with the one or more support bracket connectors.The disclosure also provides a method for mounting a heat sink assembly associated with a CPU, including removing one or more socket screws installed at one or more corners of a socket disposed in a board, installing one or more support bracket connectors configured to mate with respective holes in the board, and mounting a heat sink assembly to the support bracket connectors using one or more heat sink connectors configured to mate with the one or more support bracket connectors.The disclosure also provides a system for mounting an electronic component and associated heat sink to a board, including a support bracket operable to retain an electronic component and provide at least one electrical connection between a board and the electronic component, a support bracket connector configured to releasably connect the support bracket to the board, and a heat sink connector configured to releasably connect a heat sink with the support bracket connector.

摘要: A snap latch device has a handle with a pair of cam members extending from a lower end. The device also has a flexible snap which protrudes from the handle. The front end of the snap has a barbed lip. The device is designed to interlock a shuttle assembly to a stationary chassis. The device is pivotally mounted to the shuttle which carries a board with connectors. The device is movable between an engaged position and a retracted position. In the engaged position, the cam members engage an end wall on the chassis and the snap inserts through and engages a hole in the shuttle. The mechanical interlock between the cam members and the end wall rigidly secures the shuttle in the chassis. The device is moved to the retracted position by pulling back on the snap to dislodge the barbed lip. This release allows the device to rotate so that the cam members disengage the end wall. After the snap and cam members are clear of the hole and end wall, respectively, the shuttle may be completely removed from the chassis. The shuttle may be inserted and locked into the chassis by reversing these steps. The snap provides visual and audible feedback to the installer to insure a proper connection between the mating connectors on the shuttle and chassis.
