    摘要: In one arrangement, a method for estimating sales of a particular type of item by a first entity through a first channel versus sales of the particular type of item by the first entity through a second channel includes the step of estimating a particular point of time, such as a day or a month, corresponding to when the first entity initially sold the particular type of item through the first channel. The method also includes the step of selecting a second entity which sells the particular type of item. Specifically, each sale of the particular type of item by the second entity may be through the second channel. The method further includes the step of comparing data associated with sales of the particular type of item by the first entity before the occurrence of the particular point time with data associated with sales of the particular type of item by the second entity before the occurrence of the particular point time to determine an adjustment factor. Moreover, the method includes the step of altering data associated with sales of the particular type of item by the second entity after the occurrence of the particular point time based on the adjustment factor to obtain altered sales data. The method also includes the step of comparing data associated with sales of the particular type of item by the first entity after the occurrence of the particular point time with the altered sales data to obtain an estimation of sales of the particular type of item by the first entity through the first channel.

    摘要: The present invention is a retractable/extendable diversity antenna that provides the appropriate polarization in a horizontal orientation. The antenna structure is placed within a Type II PCMCIA PC card package and may be extended or retracted with one touch. The antenna structure is large enough to provide for the diversity antenna design and may optionally be housed within a PCMCIA Type II PC Card. At least one spring-loaded mechanism is used to extend the antenna structure beyond the PCMCIA PC Card package and to provide stability while the antenna structure is in the extended position. The diversity antenna configuration may consist of either two miniature, planar antenna modules or two etched printed circuit board contours that are spaced as far apart as possible with a minimum separation of a quarter wave length distance in order to provide mitigation to radio multipath fading effects. The antenna modules have orientations perpendicular to each other such that the polar nulls representative of their radiation patterns remain spatially orthogonal.

    摘要: A thixotropic thermal insulating fluid includes a heavy hydrocarbon, water and oleophilic clay, wherein said heavy hydrocarbon is present in an amount of between about 75% to about 92% by volume of the fluid, said water is present in an amount of between about 5% to about 15% by volume of the fluid, and said oleophilic clay is present in an amount of between about 3% to about 10% by volume of the fluid. The fluid may be prepared by mixing water in an amount of between about 5% to about 15% by total volume of the fluid with oleophilic clay in an amount of between about 3% to about 10% by total volume of the fluid so as to provide a substantially homogeneous first gel product; and mixing said first gel product with a heavy hydrocarbon in an amount of between about 75% to about 92% by total volume of the fluid under agitation for a time sufficient to provide a second thixotropic gel product.
