Abstract:
A multiple-CCFL parallel driving circuit and the associated current balancing control method for LCD are presented, wherein the circuit comprises a plurality of CCFLs for providing the backlight for a LCD; a boosting transformer with a plurality of outputs for providing the driving voltage and current for driving the plurality CCFLs; a plurality of ballast capacitors, the ballast capacitors connect between the boosting transformer and the CCFLs; and a multiple CCFL current balancing circuit. This invention uses a low cost current mirror circuit to equalize the driving current of a plurality of CCFLs and thus significantly improve the uniformity of the displayed image on a large-size LCD.
Abstract:
A method for dimming operation of a lamp includes the steps of generating a trapezoidal wave signal in response to an input square wave low frequency dimming gating signal, and generating a driving signal that has a low frequency when the trapezoidal wave signal has a low level, that has a high frequency when the trapezoidal wave signal has a high level, that shifts gradually from the low frequency to the high frequency when the trapezoidal wave signal goes from the low level to the high level, and that shifts gradually from the high frequency to the low frequency when the trapezoidal wave signal goes from the high level to the low level. A module that performs the method is also disclosed.

Abstract:
A technology for eliminating acoustic resonance in a fluorescent lamp is disclosed in the present invention. The feature of the invention is to provide a harmonic compensating device to work with the fluorescent lamp and its relative peripheral circuits, such that current-dependent sources are provided to modulate the current in the lamp, thereby spreading the harmonic energy of the current in the lamp and eliminating acoustic resonance.
