摘要： An improved shirt pressing device for gripping both short and long-sleeved shirts. A buck having a pair of retractable arms for receiving a shirt is mounted on a base. A sleeve gripping member is provided on each retractable arm to grip the sleeve of the shirt to be pressed. Each sleeve gripping member includes a pair of clamping members for holding the cuff of a long-sleeved shirt against a cuff mount. A pair of sleeve engagement bars attached to the clamping members are adapted to grip the inside of the sleeve of a short-sleeved shirt. Thus, the retractable arms are configured to receive and hold the sleeves of both short and long-sleeved shirts.

摘要： A shirt cuff pressing assembly comprising an upper and lower cuff chest. The cuff chests have a forwardly protruding pressing surface defined by a protruding portion and a cut-out portion in which the cuff and pleated portion of a shirt sleeve may lay flat. The cut-out portion provides relief for the unpleated portion of a sleeve so that it is not pressed and the protruding portion allows the pleated portion of the sleeve to be pressed upon closure of the upper and lower cuff chests.

摘要： A method and apparatus for pressing a shirt comprising a shirt buck having a front and a back and opposite lateral sides therebetween and adapted to hold at least the front and back of the shirt in an orientation for being pressed, drive means to laterally move the shire buck between a loading zone and a shirt finishing zone, and a pair of chests positioned adjacent to the shirt buck at the shirt finishing zone, the chests being movable in pressing contact with a shirt on the shirt buck. The method and apparatus further comprises a supplemental buck having a central section for receiving thereon the collar of a shirt to be pressed and, on opposite sides thereof a pair of lateral sections for receiving thereon the cuffs of a shirt to be pressed with mounting means to support the central and lateral sections for concurrent movement, a plurality of fixed platens including a central platen for receiving therebeneath the collar of a shirt to be pressed with the central section of the supplemental buck therebeneath and with a pair of laterally disposed platens for receiving therebeneath the cuffs of a shirt to be pressed with the lateral sections of the supplemental buck therebeneath.

摘要： Method and apparatus for finishing a shirt comprising a buck with a first drive means to move the buck between a loading and a finishing zone; a pair of chests positioned adjacent to the buck at the finishing zone with a second drive means to move the chests between inoperative and operative positions; a pair of clips to receive an area of a shirt on the buck to be pressed at the region between the cuff and sleeve and to form an obstruction for the flow of heated air and steam therethrough during a finishing operation; steam lines for coupling a source of steam to the interior of the chests; air lines for coupling a source of negative air pressure to the buck for drawing a vacuum through the buck when the buck is in the loading zone for holding a shirt against the buck and to provide a positive air pressure to the interior of the buck to force the sleeves outwardly to effect their finishing; and a single blower to generate a positive air pressure and a negative air pressure coupled to the buck with associated control mechanism to apply positive air pressure to the buck when in the finishing zone and negative air pressure to the buck when in the loading zone.

摘要： Apparatus for cutting an annular groove about a rotating cylindrical member includes a rotating cutter positioned in cutting relation to the outer surface of the cylindrical member and including a plurality of cutting edges, each forwardly angled in relation to the direction of rotation of the cutter. The cylindrical member and cutter rotate in the same direction so that an annular groove or channel is cut in and along the outer surface of the cylindrical member. Sealing apparatus is included for providing sealing between the outer surface of such member and the inner surface of a member overlying such first-mentioned member. The sealing apparatus is of resilient material and is seated in the channel. The sealing apparatus includes a pair of elongated ribs angled in the same direction, and in contact with each other when in such sealing situation, with the elongated side surface of one of such ribs in sealing contact with the inner surface of such overlying member.
