摘要： A cooling apparatus for an electronic unit is described which includes a first plate, a second plate, and a controlling mechanism. The first and second plates are generally planar and have holes formed therethrough. The controlling mechanism is operable to move the first plate with respect to the second plate. A first position for movement is where more of the holes in the first plate and the second plate are substantially aligned than are not aligned. A second position is where more of the holes in the first plate and the second plate are not aligned than are aligned.

One method comprises equipping one or more aircraft with a computer hardware unit adapted to implement time and memory space partitioning of one or more software applications; assigning a hardware part number to the computer hardware unit; installing one or more software applications into a memory of the computer hardware unit using one or more integrity verification protocols, wherein one or more features of the one or more software applications are enabled; and assigning a software part number to a software application of the one or more software applications based on the one or more features of the one or more software applications that are enabled.

摘要： A method for configuring an electronic unit having a plurality of sides for conductive cooling is described. The electronic unit is configured to be mounted in a mounting rack and the method comprises attaching a heat conduction mechanism including an expandable heat transferring structure to the electronic unit. The heat conduction mechanism is expandable to contact a surface of the mounting rack upon activation, thereby conductively transferring heat from the electronic unit to the mounting rack.
