Abstract:
A medium transport direction switching mechanism may be provided of a simple configuration which is capable of switching the transport direction of a transported information recording medium. One end may be a biasing member for biasing a pinch roller toward a transport roller engages a support shaft which supports the pinch roller, whereas the other end of the biasing member engages a retaining member which retains the support shaft. In the medium transport direction switching mechanism, rotational behavior of the pinch roller centering upon a rotational center of the transport roller is possible between a first facing position and a second facing position, wherein the pinch roller moves to the first facing position when the transport roller rotates positively, and moves to the second facing position when the transport roller rotates negatively.
Abstract:
A medium overlapped-feed preventing may include a feed roller which is structured to abut with the information recording medium and carry the information recording medium; a separation roller oppositely disposed to the feed roller and is urged toward the feed roller and is rotated in the same direction as the feed roller for separating overlapped information recording media which are carried in an overlapped-feed state; and a gate mechanism provided with a gate part through which one piece of the information recording medium is capable of being passed but two pieces of the information recording medium in an overlapped state are unable to be passed. The gate part may disposed on a downstream side in a sending-out direction of the information recording medium with respect to an imaginary line which is formed by connecting a rotation center of the feed roller with a rotation center of the separation roller.

A card elevating/lowering device for use with cards may include a card storage part in which the cards are stacked and accommodated, and an elevating/lowering mechanism by which the cards accommodated in the card storage part are elevated and lowered. The elevating/lowering mechanism may be provided with a placing table on which the cards accommodated in the card storage part are placed and an urging member which urges the placing table in an upper direction, and a spring constant of the urging member may be substantially equal to a weight per unit thickness of the card.

Abstract:
A tamper detection mechanism for detecting tampering when a sub system is removed from a host device may include a screw member that may include a head portion, a major diameter shaft portion and a minor diameter shaft portion. The tamper detection mechanism may also include a through hole provided in the sub system, a lever member, and a detection switch. The lever member may withdraw from said through hole as it is pushed by the major diameter shaft portion when the screw member is tightly screwed, and may advance into the through hole when the screw member is loosened. The detection switch may detect whether the screw member is tightly screwed or loosened based on withdrawal or advancement of the lever member.

Abstract:
A store sales proceed depositing machine having a deposit operation panel at one side of the machine, a storage unit storing deposited cash, and an external communications unit communicating with a cash logistics company and a financial institution. A cashing operation panel is provided at a side of the machine different from the deposit operation panel. Inside the machine are provided a cashing controller; a second cash storage unit storing a predetermined amount of cash for a cashing service; a second cash temporary holder removing, counting, and then temporary holding cash from the second cash storage unit, the amount having been entered at the cashing operation panel; and a cashing processor dispensing cash from the second cash temporary holder and issuing a receipt. The cashing controller verifies user identification, confirms the user's account balance, dispenses cash from the user's account, and notifies the financial institution.
Abstract:
A valuable ticket—on which ticketing data is magnetically recorded and which is printed for issuance-includes a base a heat-sensitive layer provided on one side of the base, a protective layer provided on the heat-sensitive layer and a magnetic recording layer provided on the other side of the base. A ticket printer for magnetically recording and printing ticketing data on ticket blanks for issuance includes ticket blank holder means for holding ticket blanks, each comprising a base, a heat-sensitive layer and a protective layer provided on one side of the base and a magnetic recording layer provided on the other side of the base, magnetic recording means for magnetically recording ticketing data the magnetic recording layers of the ticket blanks contained in the ticket blank holder means, and thermal printing means for thermally printing the ticketing data on the heat-sensitive layers of the magnetically recorded ticket blanks for issuance.
