    摘要: The invention is generally related to an intervertebral implant for replacing an intervertebral disc of the human spine. The intervertebral implant includes a first conformable endplate, the first conformable endplate being conformable to a boney vertebral endplate under an anatomical load, a second endplate and a core between the endplates, wherein the first conformable endplate partitions the core from the boney vertebral endplate, whereby the core does not contact the boney vertebral endplate. The invention is also directed to a method of replacing an intervertebral disc. The method includes removing at least a portion of an intervertebral disc to form an intervertebral disc space, implanting a first conformable endplate, into the intervertebral disc space and in contact with a first boney vertebral endplate, the first conformable endplate being conformable to the first boney vertebral endplate under an anatomical load; implanting a second endplate into the intervertebral disc space and in contact with a second boney vertebral endplate; and implanting a core between the first conformable endplate and the second endplate, wherein the first conformable endplate partitions the core from the first boney vertebral endplate, whereby the core does not contact the first boney vertebral endplate.

    摘要: An intravascular treatment system including an introducer sheath having an intentional friction zone along a section thereof imposing an intentional friction force on the outer surface of a catheter shaft slidable therein. The friction zone representing a non-straight (e.g., curved or bent) section of the introducer sheath and/or a section of the introducer sheath whose inner wall has a reduced inner diameter (e.g., fused heat shrink material). During intravascular treatment, sufficient axial force may be applied to overcome the imposed intentional friction force and advance the intravascular treatment device in a distal direction to a desired target site in the artery. Once properly positioned, the imposed intentional friction force ensures that the intravascular treatment device is maintained in place.

    摘要: A tubular braided implant is provided including a braid that can be delivered as a single layer braid, invert into itself during deployment to form at least two nested sacks and include additional braid material that can fill the innermost sack. The additional braid material can loop or coil like a ribbon and/or invert to form smaller and smaller nested sacks. The braid can have a variable braid angle along its length such that when positioned for delivery, the can have a high braid angle near its distal end and a low braid angle near the proximal end. In addition, or as a replacement for the braid material that fills the innermost sack, the implant can include an embolic coil that can loop within the innermost sack.

    摘要: Intrasaccular flow diverter including: an interior fill braid physically inverted over itself forming a proximal inverted end and an opposite free end; and a dome braid disposed distally of and secured to the interior fill braid. Subject to application of an external mechanical force, the dome braid is transitionable between an expanded state and a compressed state. The dome braid has a proximal end with an opening defined therein through which starting at the free end the interior fill braid is passable therethrough exerting a radially outward force on the dome braid. A delivery wire is releasably detachable from the proximal inverted end of the interior fill braid. The dome braid has a stiffer profile relative to that of the interior fill braid to maintain in position within the aneurysm the dome braid as the interior fill braid is advanced therein.
