    摘要: An optoelectronic system including an optoelectronic assembly for receiving and/or transmitting optical data signals, optic means for being optically coupled to the optoelectronic assembly, and an optical fiber coupling device for coupling the optic means and at least one of the optoelectronic devices which form part of the assembly. The coupling device includes a housing for being positioned adjacent the assembly relative to the optoelectronic device and, significantly, latching means movably positioned within the housing for initially engaging the optoelectronic device and thereafter for engaging the incoming optic means (e.g., optical fiber connector) when the optic means is positioned within the coupling device's housing. Keying and shutter means are also provided as part of the coupling device.

    摘要: A connection device is provided for electrically coupling a primary circuit surface to a companion circuit surface via a flexible circuit strip for interconnecting the circuit surfaces. The connection device includes a companion positioner which has a companion-coordinating side, and a primary positioner which is coupled to the companion-coordinating side and which includes a primary-coordinating side. The companion coordinating side is adapted to be positioned parallel to the companion circuit surface, and includes a set of companion-positioner registrants for precisely positioning the companion-positioner relative to the companion circuit surface and a section of the interfacing circuit surface. The primary-coordinating side is adapted to be positioned parallel to the primary circuit surface, and includes a set of primary-positioner registrants for precisely positioning said primary-positioner relative to the primary circuit surface and another section of the interfacing circuit surface. The primary-positioner is selectively adjustable, independent of the companion-positioner, in two perpendicular directions defining a primary adjustment area parallel to the primary-coordinating side of said connection device.

    摘要: An optical fiber duplex connector assembly wherein two individual optical fiber connectors are positioned and retained within a common housing, such that relative freedom of movement between the two connectors within the common housing facilitates positioning of the retained two connectors within a suitable receiving common housing (e.g., shroud). Such movement accomodates for manufacturing tolerances within the housing and/or connectors while still assuring successful insertion. A housing, having two chambers (one for each connector) and a cover assures the defined movable connector positioning while also providing effective retention. A boot may be attached to the housing to accomodate for severe bends and turns of the optical fiber cable, without loss of attenuation.

    摘要: A connector assembly for effectively coupling two pairs of connectors wherein one of the pairs is located on a first member, e.g., a chassis, and the second pair is located on a rigid second member, e.g., a slidable card/board structure, adapted for being positioned relative to the first member such that the one pair of connectors on the second member engage the pair on the first member. The receiving connectors are each adapted for movement in response to engagement by the engaging (partner) connectors to thus compensate for possible misalignment of the second connectors. The first of these receiving connectors is movable in two different manners of direction while the second is movable in at least three (and in one embodiment, four) different manners of direction. A component for an information handling system which uses such a connector assembly as part thereof is also provided.
