    Abstract: An optical module includes a shell, a circuit board, a base, a laser assembly, a silicon optical chip and a protective cover. The laser assembly and the silicon optical chip are located on the base. The protective cover covers on the circuit board. The laser assembly and a wiring region of the laser assembly and/or the silicon optical chip and a wiring region of the silicon optical chip are encapsulated between the protective cover and the circuit board. The shell includes at least one heat conduction column, the at least one heat conduction column is disposed on an inner wall of the shell and is in thermal conductive connection with the laser assembly and/or the silicon optical chip. The protective cover includes at least one escape opening that allow the at least one heat conduction column to pass and enter an inside of the protective cover.

    Abstract: An optical housing assembly includes a housing member having a first face and a second face. The first face has a plurality of first cavities and the second face has a plurality of second cavities. Each of the first cavities is aligned with one of the second cavities and each of the first cavities and each of the second cavities has a housing locking member. The housing member includes wall with an opening between each pair of aligned first and second cavities. Each of a plurality of first adapter inserts have a first mounting section inserted into one of the first cavities, a first receptacle configured to receive a first optical fiber connector therein, and a first connector latching member configured to interact with a first latching structure of the first optical fiber connector. Each of a plurality of second adapter inserts has a second mounting section inserted into one of the second cavities, a second receptacle configured to receive a second optical fiber connector therein, and a second connector latching member configured to interact with a second latching structure of the second optical fiber connector. Each of the first adapter inserts and each of the second adapter inserts have an adapter insert locking member associated with their respective mounting sections with each adapter insert locking member being configured to interact with one of the housing locking members to lock the adapter insert in one of the receptacles of the housing.

    Abstract: The invention provides a dust cap which allows for performing operation test of an optical transceiver without removing the dust cap from the optical transceiver. The dust cap 100 comprises: a connector 110a having an opening on a distal end of the connector 110a, which is pressed into a transmission adapter of the optical transceiver 300; a connector 110b having an opening on a distal end of the connector 110b, which is pressed into a reception adapter of the optical transceiver 300 adjacent to the transmission adapter; a support member 140 connected with proximal ends of the connectors 110a, 110b and configured to support the connectors 110a, 110b; and an optical transmission path 130 configured to pass through the connector 110a, the support member 140, and the connector 110b in that order and to transmit light from the opening of the connector 110a to the opening of the connector 110b.

    Abstract: An optical connector plug with a shutter to be fitted to an optical connector adapter includes: a plug frame configured to hold a ferrule; a square cylindrical front housing including a shutter that opens and closes with a movement of the ferrule; a locking housing fixedly and integrally connected to the plug frame and configured to be fitted into and be locked with the optical connector adapter; and a spring that biases the front housing forward. The plug frame is moved forward by a rearward movement of the front housing, a front opening edge portion of the plug frame expands a shutter into a straight shape, and the shutter includes slits straddling over a boundary between a flat portion and a curved portion when light is blocked, and a protrusion formed by a center portion being deformed by the expanded shutter when being fitted is cancelled.

    Abstract: An optical fiber adapter according to the present disclosure includes a main body, an inner housing, an elastic shutter member and a spring. The main body has an axial accommodation room defined by a first wall, a second wall, a third wall and a fourth wall. The accommodation room has opposing first and second openings in the axial direction. The inner housing is placed within the accommodation room and includes a hollow cylinder extending from the front surface of a flange. The shutter member is positioned within the accommodation room and includes a base portion, a shutter plate and a connecting portion. The connecting portion connects the base portion with the shutter plate. The shutter plate extends from the connecting portion and arrives in front of an opening of the hollow cylinder. The shutter plate is movable with respect to the base portion. The spring is positioned within the accommodation room to push the shutter member toward the first opening of the accommodation room.
