摘要： A dual braking arrangement is provided for a vehicle whereby setting the hand brake will not affect the positioning of the foot-brake pedal and conversely the actuation of the foot-brake pedal will not affect the positioning of the hand-brake lever. A split linkage is provided whereby the brake actuator is splined to a dual operative lever, such that actuation of the dual operative lever by either the linkage connected to the hand-brake lever or the linkage connected to the foot-brake pedal, will actuate the brake.

摘要： The apparatus for cleaning tuberous plants of this invention comprises a frame, a plurality of digging wheels fastened on the lowermost side of a suitable horizontal framing member at the forwardmost terminal end of the frame, a disk-renk, a belt-renk subassembly, and a discharging subassembly. The disk-renk may include a multiplicity of pentagonally shaped plates fastened on a suitable shaft. The belt-renk subassembly may include a elevating conveyer operable to elevate and to move rearwardly tubers discharged from the disk-renk and a belt-renk disposed parallel to, and substantially beneath, the elevating conveyer, and a upwardly inclined chain conveyer-like belt inclined from its forwardmost terminal end to its rearwardmost terminal end. The chain conveyer-like belt is driven in an upwardly inclined, rearward direction. The discharging subassembly is operable to take plant tubers from the lowermost forwardmost terminal end of the belt-renk and to convey the tubers to a suitable transporting vehicle or similar containing apparatus.

摘要： A portable food serving receptacle capable of heating chilled or frozen food to cooking or serving temperatures and automatically maintaining food at serving temperature. The receptacle consists of thin metallic walls and utilizes a flexible heating element of electrical and thermal insulating material. The heating element is adhered to the metallic walls of an inner dish of the receptacle. The insulating material of the heating element forms a laminated structure in which the electrical resistor is embedded. The walls of the receptacle have a substantially higher thermal conductivity than the laminate. The rate of heat flow from the heating element to the interface of the food and metallic walls of the receptacle is controlled by the thermal insulating characteristics of the laminate so that gradients of heat entering any given point of the food are substantially equal and are maintained at temperature levels below the scorching temperature of the food.

摘要： A system for psychologically testing visually impaired or reading impaired persons has a series of questions presented in a prerecorded audible form. An answer sheet having regions in which responses to each question may be recorded has associated with each of the regions a marker which may be removed, moved, or physically modified to record a desired response to each question. The regions for the recording of responses are associated with a tactilely locatable portion on each answer sheet which enables the regions to be easily located by touch, with each marker preferably being a tactilely locatable element which is similarly easily located by touch.

摘要： An internal combustion engine analyzer provides both data acquisition and data processing and includes an analog waveform analysis subsystem together with a general purpose background system wherein appropriate power distribution is provided for the system as a whole and peripheral equipment such as a printer, keyboard and an analog/digital CRT is also provided. The input signals to be analyzed are waveforms generally associated with internal combustion engines and peripheral equipment. Exemplary waveforms are the primary and secondary ignition waveforms. The waveforms are attenuated to reasonable levels and multiplexed to analog circuitry which serves to measure waveform magnitude at one or more sampling points along the length of the wave and to also measure the manner in which the characteristics of the waveform change. The analog measurements are digitized and coupled to a processor which in turn controls the operation of the analog circuitry. The digitized measurements together with previously entered engine identification data are analyzed by the processor to thereby control subsequent data taking and to generate appropriate maintenance and repair instructions which are communicated visually to an operator in the disclosed embodiment.
