摘要: A method and system for remotely calibrating a headset telephone with a reliable, accurate and easy to use user interface is provided. This method makes use of the remote programmability of advanced telephone headsets and DTMF signal encoding and permits the customer-user to instigate the calibration procedure with an ordinary telephone call. The invention provides the means by which the optimum settings can be transmitted to the headset, loaded and stored in the headset, thereby improving the audio quality of telephone headsets by providing adjustment steps for such audio qualities as microphone gain (transmit level), speaker gain, background noise and echo cancellation, filter functions and diagnostics. This method also provides audio feedback to a customer service representative performing the calibration to insure that the commands and adjustments were properly received. It also incorporates a remote override and storage process, as well as a security gateway to ensure that only authorized changes are made in the programming of the headset. This invention contemplates the audio problems inherent in advanced telephone headsets and provides a user-friendly, reliable and programmable solution.

摘要: A sound engine in a processor-based system utilizing real-time synthesis optimizes synthesis time, maximizes the number of fully-synthesized sound requests and preserves currently excessive sound requests. During synthesis, the sound engine attempts to full-synthesize all requests. If the sound engine determines that remaining sound requests are excessive and cannot be fully-synthesized, it preserves each excessive request by synthesizing a substitute waveform segment. If the sound engine determines that limiting the number of preserved requests is required, it synthesizes a concluding waveform segment for and then discards selected requests during selected synthesis intervals. Both substitute-synthesis and discarding of sound requests are achieved with minimized detrimental impact on ongoing sound performances.

摘要: The programmable analog input/output integrated circuit system includes a plurality of integrated circuit pins, an analog input/output circuit, a control module, and a switching module. The analog input/output circuit is coupled to the plurality of pins and determines the input/output status of each of the pins. The control module generates an I/O control signal and a switching control signal based on the input/output status of the integrated circuit pins. The I/O control signal is provided to the analog I/O circuit, which configures itself as an input or output based on the I/O control signal. The control module provides the switching control signal to the switching module, which configures itself to couple the analog input and/or analog output to corresponding functional circuitry of the corresponding integrated circuit.
