    摘要: Fault analysis and detection involving a generator neutral ground includes monitoring a voltage waveform across a neutral grounding transformer of a generator. During monitoring of the voltage waveform a sample of the voltage waveform is acquired. Previously, a number of similar past samples of the monitored waveform were acquired and stored as well. The present sample is compared to one or more of these stored, past samples so that, based on a similarity between the present sample to the past samples, a generator fault indicated by the present sample can be identified. Identifying the generator fault can include recognizing that it is presently occurring or that it may occur in a predictable timeframe. Additionally, identifying a component of the generator that caused, or will cause, the generator fault can be identified as well. A diagnostic message or control signal based on the identified generator fault can then be generated.

The temperature monitor includes an infrared sensor for receiving infrared energy from a plurality of discrete predetermined locations on the bus structure, a first member defining a stationary first mask, a second member defining a rotating second mask, and a drive member driving the second member in rotation relative to the first member. Rotation of the second member relative to the first member defines an aperture translated across the first mask member to provide a moving line-of-sight that extends from the sensor and that scans to each of the discrete predetermined locations on the bus structure.

    摘要: An improved transfer system is provided for guiding a thermoplastic injection runner from a conveyor into a collection hopper. A thermoplastic runner, which results from the injection molding of plastic parts, such as closures, is moved by a conveyor to a transfer drum which utilizes spikes to direct the runner into the hopper. The closures are separated from the runner as it moves along the conveyor and fall into a collection device at the end of the conveyor. A unique separation grid is positioned above the transfer drum and serves as a guide for the runner as it is directed by the spikes on the transfer drum from the conveyor into the hopper. The separation grid prevents the runner from becoming entangled with the drum or from dropping to the floor. The runner material collected in the hopper can be salvaged for recycling after it has been processed in a grinder.

    摘要: A method is provided for monitoring velocity of a fluid flow through a predetermined fluid flow space. A fiber optic conductor includes a flow measurement portion defining an elongated dimension extending across a portion of the fluid flow space. The fluid flow in the fluid flow space causes the measurement portion of the fiber optic conductor to flex in a direction transverse to the elongated dimension. Optical radiation is supplied to the fiber optic conductor, and optical radiation is received from the fiber optic conductor after the supplied optical radiation has passed through the measurement portion. The received optical radiation is analyzed to effect a determination of a flow velocity of the fluid flow.

The condition monitoring system includes a sensor including an ion chamber located inside the generator for sensing particulates inside the generator. The sensor provides an electrical sensor output to an output converter that is also located inside the generator. The output converter converts the electrical sensor output to a light signal output which is transmitted out of the generator. An energy conversion device is located within the generator for receiving light energy from a light source outside of the generator and converting the light energy to electrical energy for powering the sensor and the output converter.

    摘要: An overheating detection processing system monitors in real time and stores data samples from the different types of power plant overheating detectors. The system determines a likelihood of whether a stored detector output sample reading, alone or in combination with other readings, is indicative of monitored power plant equipment overheating. The system references previously stored information in an information storage device that associates respective types of detector sample reading levels with equipment overheating. The system also compares a combination of stored sample readings and establishes overheating determination confidence levels. The confidence levels information is combined to derive an overall confidence level of whether the power plant equipment is overheated. An overheating alarm response is initiated if an overheating condition is determined at any confidence level. Additional responses are made based on a combination of calculated confidence levels.
