    摘要: A liner hanger is used for deploying a liner into a wellbore. The liner hanger includes a tubular body having a first end and a second end. The first end can include a connection to a liner. The second end can include a sealed connection to an operational pipe. The sealed connection can be releasable. An expansion tool attached to a work string can be used for suspending the liner hanger into the wellbore. At least a portion of the expandable pipe is radially expanded using the expansion tool. The radial expansion of the expandable pipe can cause compression of at least one seal member against a base casing.

The system also includes an expansion tool that is connected to a drill pipe. The expansion tool includes an expansion cone attached to the slick joint. The slick joint can slide within the bore of the seal bushing. A ball is dropped into the drill pipe and lands on a seat of the expansion tool to increase hydraulic pressure. The ball and the seal bushing can avoid pressurizing an entire liner connected below the pup joint. When the expansion cone moves through the liner hanger at least in part under the effect of pressure, the liner hanger is expanded and anchored to a base casing.

    摘要: An expansion system is capable of expanding a tubular that has no shoe or plug. The tubular is expanded by a cone coupled to a mandrel, which is energized by a jack actuator to effect a plurality of strokes. The jack actuator is supported by a support member. The jack actuator releasably engages and locks to an operational pipe at predetermined length intervals corresponding to the length of each actuator stroke. The actuator jack is reset and moved to a new locking location between strokes. The operational pipe holds the expandable tubular in place during expansion. After expansion, the cone, mandrel, actuator jack, and operational pipe are free of the expandable tubular and can be pulled out of the wellbore. The expansion system can be used for applications of patches having a small size in wellbores where milling debris may be detrimental.

    摘要: A tool for expanding a liner in a wellbore includes a cone assembly that is moveable between a retracted position and an extended position. The tool also includes a jack assembly that is operable by fluid pressure to move the cone assembly from the retracted position to the extended position. The fluid pressure is also applied to expansion cup seals to generate axial load that urges the cone assembly to move through the expandable liner and radially expand of the expandable liner. A latch assembly axially fixes the liner while the cone assembly moves to the extended position. Once the cone assembly is fully moved to the extended position, the latch assembly releases the liner, allowing the cone assembly to move through the liner and radially expand the liner.

    摘要: Tubulars are used to seal a leak in completion equipment, such as parted connection (or parted casing) or damaged casing, isolate a casing perforation or an open hole zone, by expanding the tubulars over the leak, perforation, or zone, where the inner diameters of sections of the completion equipment above and below the leak, perforation, or zone are different. Alternatively, the tubulars are used to apply a liner over an open hole section and anchor the liner onto a base casing. The tubulars preferably function as cladding. An apparatus for expanding the tubulars includes a lower fixed-diameter cone, an upper fixed-diameter cone, and a drill pipe passing through the upper fixed-diameter cone and attached to the lower fixed-diameter cone.     摘要: An expansion system is assembled by coupling a piston assembly and a solid cone assembly to an adjustable cone assembly within an expandable tubular having inner sleeve disposed in a portion thereof. The expansion system is run into a wellbore. The piston assembly is activated to move the solid cone assembly downward through the inner sleeve so as to expand the inner sleeve and the portion of the expandable tubular having the inner sleeve. The adjustable cone assembly is shifted from a retracted position to an expansion position within the inner sleeve. The adjustable cone assembly is moved upward through expandable tubular while leaving the solid cone assembly and the inner sleeve coupled to expandable tubular.
