    摘要: A technique facilitates improved anchoring of expandable well tools along a wellbore or other type of borehole. According to an embodiment, a well tool is sized for placement along a well string. The well tool comprises a tubing and an expandable tubular coupled to the tubing. The expandable tubular is plastically deformable in a radially outward direction when sufficient pressure is applied to an interior of the expandable tubular. The well tool also comprises at least one anchoring ring disposed circumferentially about the expandable tubular. The anchoring ring is constructed with at least one weak point which breaks during expansion of the expandable tubular. Breakage at this weak point enables movement of the anchoring ring in a radially outward direction without elongation of the anchoring ring.

    摘要: A device, system, and/or method for hanging a casing in a borehole operation are provided. A gripping feature may be included on an inner surface of a larger casing. Then, a smaller casing is positioned within the larger casing, and the outer diameter of the smaller casing or the hanging mechanism is expanded to contact the larger casing's gripping feature. The result is a secure engagement between the two casings. This gripping feature may comprise grooves cut into the inner surface of the larger casing wherein the grooves may have a groove density, an uphole groove angle, a downhole groove, an orientation, and other features that improve the engagement between the two casings.

    摘要: An expandable liner hanger system for forging a pressure seal and hanging of the liner weight against outer casing string in a wellbore that includes an outer casing string, and an inner casing string positioned within the outer casing string and having an inner diameter. The system also includes an elongate inner string tool selectively insertable into the inner casing string and having a torque locking sleeve that removably couples with the inner casing string. Also included in the expandable liner hanger system is an expansion cone slidable along the inner string tool and having a diameter greater than the inner diameter of the inner casing string so that when the cone is urged into the inner casing string, the larger diameter cone deforms the inner casing string radially outward into engagement with the outer casing string. The system also includes a downhole hydraulic force intensifier.

The profiled sections are arranged coaxially and a radially applied force is applied to form a metal to metal sealed connection. At least one profiled section includes a projection, the projection containing an overhang to the surface of the tubular member, the overhang locking with the opposing profile when the force is applied to provide a coupling with increased burst and collapse rating. Embodiments are provided of arrangements of overhangs such as oppositely directed overhangs and interlocking overhangs.
