    摘要: Disclosed herein is a rotary internal combustion engine comprising a housing assembly including first and second substantially identical housing members extending in spaced, parallel and aligned relation to each other and respectively including wall means partially defining first and second trochoid shaped rotor cavities and additional wall means partially defining first and second water jackets respectively extending partially circumferentially of the cavities and respectively including circumferentially spaced inlet and outlet ends, a first wall member located adjacent to the first housing member remotely from the second housing member and further defining the first rotor cavity and including coolant inlet means communicating with the inlet end of the first water jacket, a second wall member located adjacent to the second housing member remotely from the first housing member and further defining the second rotor cavity and including outlet means communicating with the outlet end of the second water jacket, and an intermediate member located between the housing members, partially defining the rotor cavities and including coolant conduit means communicating between the outlet end of the first water jacket and the inlet end of the second water jacket.

    摘要: A lower unit for a marine propulsion device includes a drive shaft housing having a lower end, a gearcase housing connected to the lower end of the drive shaft housing and having an interior wall defining an elongated cavity, the interior wall including a first surface portion transverse to the longitudinal axis of the elongated cavity and a second surface portion transverse to the longitudinal axis and spaced circumferentially from the first surface portion. A propeller shaft is located in and extends axially through the gearcase housing cavity, and a propeller is supported on the propeller shaft. A hollow bearing carrier member encircles the propeller shaft for rotatably supporting the propeller shaft inside the gearcase housing. The bearing carrier member is supported by the interior wall of the gearcase housing and carries a bearing rotatably engaging the propeller shaft. A pair of anchoring members are also provided for anchoring the bearing carrier member to the gearcase housing, one of the anchoring members including a radially outer portion engageable with the first surface portion and the other of the anchoring members including a radially outer portion engageable with the second surface portion. Bolts are provided for forcing second portions of the anchoring members toward the bearing carrier member and for causing engagement of the radially outer portions against the surface portions of the gearcase housing.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a rotary internal combustion engine comprising a unitary housing member including first annularly extending wall means including an outwardly facing surface partially defining a cooling jacket extending generally circumferentially around the first wall means, and an inwardly facing surface partially defining a rotor cavity, together with second wall means extending in outwardly spaced relation from the first wall means and including an inwardly facing surface in opposing relation to the outwardly facing surface of the first wall means to further partially define the cooling jacket, and web means extending generally transversely to and joining the first and second wall means.Also disclosed herein is a rotary internal combustion engine comprising a housing assembly including a housing member having an end wall and wall means partially defining a rotor cavity extending to the end wall and having a portion in which combustion takes place and also partially defining a cooling jacket extending adjacent to the cavity portion and to the end wall, together with a cover on the housing member end wall and including a first portion further defining the rotor cavity and a second portion further defining the cooling jacket.In addition, the cover also includes wall means spaced from said rotor cavity for partially defining a second cooling jacket extending along the cover adjacent to the cavity portion, and the housing assembly also includes a coolant inlet communicating with each of the cooling jackets, and a coolant outlet communicating with each of the cooling jackets whereby one portion of the coolant flows between the inlet and the outlet through one of the cooling jackets and another portion of the coolant flows between the inlet and the outlet through the other of the cooling jackets.In further addition, the cover also includes an endless recess extending circumferentially around the second cover portion further defining the cooling jacket, together with means extending between the housing member and the cover outside of the area bounded by the endless recess for connecting the cover to the end wall, and a sealing member located in the endless recess and in sealing engagement with the cover and with the end wall to prevent loss of coolant from the cooling jacket between the cover and the housing member.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a carburetor for internal combustion engines having an automatic choke control mechanism including a vacuum diaphragm assembly operatively connected to a choke lever for opening a spring-biased closed choke valve and holding it open at idling and lower engine speeds and a linkage arrangement interconnecting a throttle valve lever and the choke lever for holding the choke valve open at higher engine speeds independently of the vacuum diaphragm assembly. The linkage arrangement includes a spring-biased choke pull-out lever which is held in a locked position during engine idling and lower engine speeds by a link having one end slidably received in a slot in the choke pull-out lever and the other end connected to the throttle lever. As the throttle lever is moved past a predetermined advance speed position, the link is moved to a released position in the choke pull-out lever slot wherein the choke pull-out lever is urged into abutting engagement with the choke lever to hold the choke valve open. As the throttle lever is returned toward the engine idling position past the predetermined advance speed setting, the link returns the choke pull-out lever to the locked position and the choke lever is again controlled by the vacuum diaphragm assembly.
