    摘要: A two-stroke engine has an intake channel via which the engine (1) is supplied with an air/fuel mixture prepared in a carburetor (12). The engine also has a starting device (19, 40) for enrichment of the air/fuel mixture during the start operation. The starting device (19, 40) is disposed in the region of the carburetor (12). To avoid an overenrichment of the mixture after start-up of the engine, a bypass channel (20) is provided which branches off upstream of the starting device (19, 40) viewed in the flow direction (30) of the air/fuel mixture and opens downstream of the starting device (19, 40). A switching valve (23) is mounted in the bypass channel (20) and is essentially closed when the engine (1) is started. When the engine (1) runs up, the switching valve (23) automatically switches into a position where less throttling occurs.

    摘要: An altitude compensation device for internal combustion engines such as automotive engines. The device has a first diaphragm device and a second diaphragm device which are provided with a first diaphragm chamber and a second diaphragm chamber defined by a first diaphragm and a second diaphragm, respectively. A choke lever connected to a choke valve is fixed to the first diaphragm while a stopper for limiting the opening of the choke valve is provided on the second diaphragm device. A first communication passage provides a communication between the first diaphragm chamber and the intake passage of the engine so as to transmit the intake vacuum to the first diaphragm chamber to drive the choke valve in such a direction as to open the choke valve. A second communication passage provides a communication between the intake passage and the second diaphragm chamber to transmit the intake vacuum thereby to move the stopper in such a direction as to afford a larger opening of the choke valve. An air bleed valve is disposed in the second communication passage to selectively bring the latter into communication with the atmosphere.

    摘要: An accelerator pump supplies additional fuel into a primary intake passage when a primary throttle valve is opened. A vacuum-operated actuator is responsive to a vacuum developed in a manifold passage upon cranking for actuating an accelerator pump plunger to discharge extra fuel into the primary intake passage. When the engine which is cold is to be started, such an additional supply of fuel assists the engine in getting started quickly. When the engine which is hot is to be restarted, the actuation of the accelerator pump clears away fuel vapor from the accelerator pump and a fuel feed passage connected therewith, thus readying the accelerator pump for normal operation. The primary throttle valve is operatively connected to the accelerator pump through a plate cam having a cam edge which is profiled such that the amount of extra fuel as supplied by the accelerator pump is proportional to opening of the primary throttle valve.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a carburetor for internal combustion engines having an automatic choke control mechanism including a vacuum diaphragm assembly operatively connected to a choke lever for opening a spring-biased closed choke valve and holding it open at idling and lower engine speeds and a linkage arrangement interconnecting a throttle valve lever and the choke lever for holding the choke valve open at higher engine speeds independently of the vacuum diaphragm assembly. The linkage arrangement includes a spring-biased choke pull-out lever which is held in a locked position during engine idling and lower engine speeds by a link having one end slidably received in a slot in the choke pull-out lever and the other end connected to the throttle lever. As the throttle lever is moved past a predetermined advance speed position, the link is moved to a released position in the choke pull-out lever slot wherein the choke pull-out lever is urged into abutting engagement with the choke lever to hold the choke valve open. As the throttle lever is returned toward the engine idling position past the predetermined advance speed setting, the link returns the choke pull-out lever to the locked position and the choke lever is again controlled by the vacuum diaphragm assembly.

    摘要: A double diaphragm, two stage vacuum break device in which the vacuum break plunger operates in a first stage in response to movement of one diaphragm assembly and in a second stage in response to movement of a pair of diaphragm assemblies. Metering valves are employed to cause delay of movement of the vacuum break devices in each of its ranges and delay can be eliminated from a selected one or both of the stages of movement by omitting a valve member. The stages of movement are under the control of separate sources of vacuum, a selected one of which may be under control of a temperature responsive valve. The range of movement of the plunger in its two stages of operation may be adjusted by mechanical means or a member responsive to temperature.

    摘要: A choke valve control device is provided for an internal combustion piston engine in which each cylinder is provided with a main combustion chamber and an auxiliary combustion chamber connected by a torch nozzle. A first carburetor supplies lean mixture to the main chamber and a second carburetor supplies rich mixture to the auxiliary chamber, and each carburetor is provided with a choke valve. The choke valve of the first carburetor may be automatically operated by means of a bimetal element or may be manually actuated. Both choke valves are provided with biasing means tending to move them toward closed position, respectively, and each is provided with valve opening means responsive to engine operation.
