Abstract:
An apparatus and method for reducing humidity both within laundry and within a laundry treating appliance in response to a door being opened or closed are disclosed.
Abstract:
A steam generator according to one embodiment of the invention includes a steam generation chamber for converting the water to steam, and a heating element thermally coupled with the steam generation chamber and having a first portion below an operational water level of the steam generation chamber and a second portion above the operational water level, with the first portion having a greater thermal output than the second portion.
Abstract:
A garment refreshing appliance comprising: an enclosure for receiving at least one garment to be refreshed, a support positioned in said enclosure to receive and suspend said garment in said enclosure, an air moving device arranged to circulate a flow of air within said enclosure, and an air duct associated with said air moving device to direct said circulating flow of air within said enclosure, said air duct having a plurality of flow directing vanes associated therewith to direct said recirculating flow of air against said garment.
Abstract:
A steam generator having a steam generation tube defining a chamber for receiving water and converting the water to steam, and a heating element wrapped around the tube and having a first portion emitting a greater thermal output than a second portion.
Abstract:
An automatic washing machine including a tub, a drum mounted for rotating within the tub, a treating chamber for receiving laundry to be treated, a door selectively moveable between opened and closed conditions to provide access to the treating chamber, a position sensor configured to sense the opened and closed conditions of the door and accordingly output a door condition signal, a humidity reduction device coupled to the treating chamber, and a controller configured to execute a treating cycle of operation and operably coupled with the position sensor to receive the door condition signal and the humidity reduction device to control its actuation, and further configured to operate the humidity reduction device and to rotate the drum to reduce the humidity in the treating chamber in response to the door being opened and subsequently closed after the completion of the treating cycle of operation.

Abstract:
A compressor includes a housing to which a cylinder and head structure is adjustably mounted by means of an adjustable spacer. By adjusting the compression on the head structure during assembly, the head clearance of the compressor piston is adjusted for a desired operating characteristic. In a preferred embodiment the compressor includes an extruded housing as well as other major components.
