摘要： A two-stage power-operated press for closing molds as used in the manufacture of plastic articles by injection molding. The press incorporates a first fluid motor means for advancing and retracting the movable platen at a rapid traverse rate at relatively low pressure and a second fluid motor means for imparting a high-locking pressure to the movable platen at the end of its stroke in order to close the mating mold segments carried by the movable and fixed platens, respectively. The arrangement of the operating parts of the press is such as to achieve maximum platen stroke in order to obtain increased mold opening for accommodating molds for the manufacture of deep-draw articles.
