摘要： An oval elliptical mirror assembly with a generally convex reflective surface having a long axis and a short axis essentially normal to the long axis. The oval shape is provided to increase the field-of-view for a user along the long axis. The mirror assembly may be mounted on a flat mounting surface, such as a walls, or a varied mounting surface, such as the external surface of a vehicle. The mirror is mounted with the long axis positioned at any angle to provide for the desired field-of-view.

摘要： A vehicular mirror clamping bracket used for securing mirror assemblies to a vehicle. The clamping bracket is a base and a clamp unit hinged to open and close, thus, permitting a support for a mirror assembly to be inserted into a throughbore within the bracket. The clamp is closed over the mirror assembly support applying torque and thereby holding the support in place. When the clamp is closed, a latch hook on the clamp engages a latch edge in the base thereby locking the clamp closed.

摘要： A mirror having a convex reflecting surface with a continuous peripheral edge is disclosed. The convex reflecting surface has an apex which extends a predetermined distance H from a plane defined by the peripheral edge. The convex reflecting surface at the continuous peripheral edge has an outer diameter D. The relationship of D/H is in the range of 2.5 to 3.0. The convex reflecting surface is also characterized by a seventh order, sixth degree equation or in the alternative a truncated elliptical surface with a minor axis at 3.72 inches from the origin and a major axis at 4.11 inches from the origin. The elliptical surface being truncated at a distance 0.72 inches from the origin. The mirror is mounted to a disc member with a threaded ball member mounted to the disc member. The threaded member is attached to brackets which are mounted to the vehicle behind the front bumper. The mirror permits the vehicle operator to see in front of, along the side of and behind the vehicle.

摘要： A vehicle or other type mirror having a convex reflective surface is surrounded by an opaque or non-reflective band. The opaque band extends from the reflective surface to a mounting flange. The mounting flange is adapted to seat on a mounting frame. A gasket secures the mounting frame and the mounting flange together. The mirror is mounted to a vehicle by suitable mounting members. The mirror permits the entire reflective surface to be available for viewing without interference from the gasket or mounting frame.

摘要： The mounting assembly readily enables longitudinal or transverse adjustment of the position of the mirror relative to the vehicle. The mounting assembly includes a mirror shaft, a base member and a cover member to secure the upper end of the mirror shaft to the back of the mirror; a pair of anchors and sleeves which anchor the medial portion of the mirror shaft to the vehicle, and a clamping member and a bracket member to mount the lower end of the mirror shaft to the vehicle. The mirror shaft is secured within the clamping member, the clamping member is mounted onto the bracket member, and the bracket member is mounted onto the vehicle. The base member is secured to the back of the mirror, and the upper end of the mirror shaft is securely retained between the cover member and the base member. Two elongated anchors are cooperatively engaged with two sleeves which are medially disposed abut the mirror shaft. One end of each anchor is securely affixable to the vehicle, and the second end of each anchor is securely affixable to the sleeve which surround the mirror shaft.
