Abstract:
A low cost camera by implementing the major functions in host software is provided. This is accomplished by sending raw, digitized data from the camera directly to the host. The increased volume of raw data is handled by either an improved compression/decompression scheme using lossless compression, using lossy compression or using a shared bus with higher bandwidth. By moving such functions as color processing and scaling to the host, the pixel correction can also be moved to the host. This in turn allows the elimination of the frame buffer memory from the camera. Finally, the camera can use a low cost lens by implementing vignetting, distortion, gamma or aliasing correction with a correction value stored in a register of the camera for later access by the host to perform corrections.
Abstract:
An apparatus (20, 30) operative from a first liquid pressure only and configured to generate and selectively direct a stream of first liquid or a third liquid is disclosed. Since no electrical power is used, the apparatus can be safely operated in any moist environments (e.g. a shower). In preferred embodiments, the apparatus is configured to operate in series with a showerhead (22) and a sink tap (32) for dental irrigation. Either water or dental solution which is comprised of water mixed with dental concentrate, can be independently selected. A mixer valve (48) controls the concentration of the irrigating solution. A handheld syringe (40) contains all other controls necessary for operation.
Abstract:
A device for use in connection with a hair rinsing procedure is disclosed herein having an inner and an outer shell nested together in conformal spaced apart relationship separated by movable water dispensing elements disposed in holes provided in the inner shell. Each element includes a tapered conical portion having several grooves for conducting water through each inner shell hole into a common rinsing cavity. Each water dispensing element carries resilient legs bearing against the outer shell urging the tapered conical portion into each respective hole and is further provided with a stop adapted to engage with the outer shell when the element is depressed. A pressurized water source is detachable coupled to the outer shell for introducing water into a channel between opposing surfaces of the inner and outer shells while the inner and outer shells include coaxially disposed drainage apertures for conducting waste rinse water into a basin.
Abstract:
A fluid driven rotary scrub brush having a fluid receiving inlet, a rotatably mounted waterwheel rotated by the received fluid, a rotary brush and a rotatably mounted brush mounting adaptor rotated by the waterwheel. The brush and adaptor comprise interlocking means actuable to a locked condition for locking the brush and adaptor together responsive to movement of the brush toward the adaptor. Means is exposed for user deactuation for removal of the brush from the adaptor.
Abstract:
An improved inflation pressure regulator is disclosed of the type which automatically releases pressure above a predetermined maximum during inflation of a vehicular tire. The regulator, which is particularly suitable for use with low capacity tires and for use with high capacity air pumps, comprises a generally tubular housing adapted to be coupled between a vehicular tire and a source of compressed air. A substantially friction-free flexing seal arrangement within the housing couples the air source to an exhaust aperture and bypasses the tire when the pressure within the tire reaches a predetermined level. The use of a flexing seal substantially reduces seal wear and thus reduces seal leaks and minimizes variations in the regulator rating over the life of the regulator.
Abstract:
A circuit for coupling a citizens band transceiver and a broadcast band receiver to a standard automobile antenna. The circuit is comprised of an impedance transforming network connected in series with the standard automobile antenna and a parallel-tuned circuit in series with the broadcast band receiver. The series-tuned network is comprised of a split capacitance for stepping the impedance down from the citizens band transceiver to the lower impedance of a standard automobile antenna. The series-tuned circuit also includes a tuning coil for matching the output of the network to the particular automobile antenna. In series between the automobile antenna and the broadcast band receiver is a parallel-tuned circuit comprised of a capacitor and a tuning coil. To prevent multiplication and excessive voltages in the event the broadcast band receiver should become disconnected, a limiting resistor connects the parallel-tuned circuit to ground. The tuning coil of the impedance transforming network has a novel molded plastic tuning knob for simplifying tuning of the circuit.
Abstract:
A media holder (20) is disclosed particularly suited for search and display of a selected media. The holder has a plurality of frames (22) each configured to hold media (e.g. business cards, compact discs, computer diskettes) and pivotally mounted over a slidable striking member (44). The striking member contacts an abutment member (50) defined by each frame to flip the frame for viewing.
Abstract:
A fluid driven assembly for a rotary brush comprising a housing. The housing has a top side and bottom side which converge moving toward an opposite end relative to an inlet end for fluid, thus providing a very low profile assembly, resulting in limited internal cavity space for mounting the fluid driven mechanism. Within the housing cavity is a rotary brush mounting adaptor, with affixed gear teeth, for removably mounting such a rotary brush facing out of an opening in the bottom of the housing and with the adaptor and affixed gear teeth rotating about an axis extending out of the opening. Also in the housing is a waterwheel, with affixed gear teeth, rotating about a second axis displaced toward the inlet end from the first axis. The adapter and waterwheel gear teeth are in driving engagement and water vanes on the waterwheel are axially displaced toward the top side from the adaptor and waterwheel gear teeth.
Abstract:
An elongated upper housing portion is selected having top and bottom sides and, displaced towards opposite ends thereof, a substantially circular portion and a fluid inlet throat portion. A fluid driven waterwheel and a brush mounting adaptor are rotatably mounted on the bottom side substantially at the circular portion. The waterwheel and brush mounting adaptor are coupled together in driving relation with the brush adaptor facing away from the bottom side. A plastic lower housing portion is mounted in overlapping and opposed relation to the bottom side of the housing at the inlet throat portion leaving the circular portion exposed. A fluid passage is provided between the upper and lower housing portions for delivery of fluid to the waterwheel. A tubular coupling is passed around the upper and lower housing portions at the inlet throat portion. First mechanical locking means between at least one of the housing portions and the coupling is interlocked for securing the coupling, the upper housing portion and the lower housing portion together. A separate substantially ring shaped plastic brush base is mounted on the upper housing portion overlapping the circular portion. A second mechanical locking means is interlocked between the upper housing and the fixed brush base for securing the fixed brush base to the upper housing.
