摘要： Quaternary ammonium compounds of the formula 1 ##STR1## in which R is C.sub.8 -C.sub.30 -alkyl or alkenyl; R.sub.1 is alkyl, 2-hydroxyalkyl or alkenyl each having from 8 to 30 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or benzyl; A is a group of the formulae ##STR2## B is A or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylene, X and Y are hydrogen or methyl with the proviso that X and Y are not simultaneously methyl; m is 1 or 2; n is a number of from 1 to 20; and A.sup.(-) is an anion; a process for the preparation thereof, and their use as fabric softeners.
