摘要： A scanner module and an image scanning apparatus employ an illuminator that includes at least one light emitting diode, a light guide to change the direction of the light from the light emitting diode, and a light source holder to which the light emitting diode is mounted, the light source holder being positioned in relation to the light guide such that the light source holder covers an incidence face of the light guide, on which the light from the light source is incident, the surface of light source holder facing the incidence face reflecting light incident thereupon. The reflection of light by the light source holder reduces the possibility of leakage of light, and can enhance luminous intensity of light of the illuminator.

摘要： A laser scanning device includes a device body, and a rotating polygonal mirror rotatably mounted in the device body and deflecting light projected from a light source. A cover member is mounted in the device body to cover the rotating polygonal mirror. The cover member has a slit for transmitting the light and an influent hole for letting external air flow in, and forms an air current rotating and descending at high speed around the rotating polygonal mirror. A dust collection member filters off dust included in the air flowing into the cover member through the influent hole by the air current generated in the cover member.

摘要： A scanner module and an image scanning apparatus includes an illuminator that includes a light source, a light guide extending in a main scanning direction to change a direction of the light from the light source, a guide holder recessed with a light guide mounting portion in which the light guide is mounted, and at least one supporting protrusion protruding from an entrance of the light guide mounting portion into the light guide mounting portion to support the light guide received in the light guide mounting portion. As the light guide is supported by the supporting protrusion formed at the entrance of the light guide mounting portion, it is possible to reduce deformation of the light guide and/or to prevent the light guide from being falling out of the light guide mounting portion when subjected to, e.g., a shock.

摘要： An optical scanning apparatus includes a light source to generate a beam, a lens to transmit the beam generated from the light source, and a base member to which the lens is fixed, wherein the lens is fixed to the base member via a mount member having a same coefficient of thermal expansion as the lens. According to the present general inventive concept, an optical member, such as the lens, is not directly joined to the base member but is joined to the mount member having the same coefficient of thermal expansion as the optical member and is then coupled to the base member. Consequently, the optical member is stably coupled to the base member even when the temperature changes.
