Method for creating a web-based contact book which includes multi-sourced contact-generated content (from social networks) in a custom and private stand-alone contact book with information selectively pulled from multiple outside sources, including multiple social networks, via a unique combination of a user decision node and a main and subordinated data tables structure, yielding no explicit or implicit source level value judgments or biases

摘要: The growth of the World Wide Web has yielded many new and diverse sources of contact information. These sources need to be properly synchronized in order to be effectively integrated and ultimately useful. It is also important to maintain the integrity, customization and privacy required of a proper contact book. Current contact book models and mechanisms for synchronization all rely on explicit, inherent or implicit value judgments on the validity of the sources (examples include: choosing one source exclusively over others, choosing the latest information input as the best, or creating a hierarchy of sources, or implicitly creating biases when a source synching sequence is required) which are then blindly applied across the synchronization process. Information is then placed directly into the contact book, often without consulting the user for a decision, and with the potential to overwrite correct information. These source level value judgments and biases yield problems which lead to loss of information and ultimately distrust of the content of the contact management system, among other problems. Our novel model consists of a stand-alone, custom and private contact book for each user; the content in this contact book is either entered directly by the user, or selectively pulled from exogenous sources (either outside offline contact management systems, outside online contact management systems or outside online social networks). This is achieved using multiple subordinated information tables (each for a different information source) and a main information table, and creating a user decision node located between the main table and the subordinated tables controlling the flow of information. Thus, our system harnesses all of the information sources and incorporates user discretion in dictating the flow of information. Our invention is not vulnerable to loss of information, and the user control over the process will lead to greater trust in the content. This innovation and system of combining the data table structure and the user decision node yields valuable improvements over the current technologies.

摘要: The mechanism pertains to a databases generally located on a remote server and accessed via such vehicles as the World Wide Web. The mechanism revolves around a grouping of contacts for a user. The user defines contact and other information for each contact (user-defined information). Simultaneously, contacts provide information on themselves which is also posted to the interface (contact-defined information). The mechanism synthesizes and pairs these two sets of information and serves it to the user.

摘要: A steerable, powered wheelchair with a mobile base, and two movable arms that are attached to a seat. The seat is attached to the arms with pivots that permit rotation of the seat in both vertical and horizontal planes. The arms can move through three positions. The first position is the at rest position. Here, the seat rests near or directly on the base. In the second position, the seat is spaced vertically above the mobile base. In the third position, the seat is extended forward of the mobile base 2 and can drop down to floor or ground level. A feature of the mobile base it that when the seat is in the third position, the mobile base can rotate vertically about the front wheels. This allows the wheelchair to run on two wheels, increasing the wheelchair's angular mobility. In this operational mode, the user can exercise his or her legs by bouncing them against the ground. Such bouncing while moving in a forward direction, can even simulate running or hopping, which helps exercise the user and offers an increased level of interaction and play for the user.

摘要: The invention is a computer-network based mechanism and interface which can be used by professionals to provide to personal and professional contacts their most up-to-date contact information; and secondarily, systems to facilitate upkeep of business relationships as well as to catalyze the making of new ones. The invention provides a user with space on a remote server (accessible via the World Wide Web) to store their professional and personal contact information (‘provider vehicle’). A user can then serve to other users (accessing the remote server via the World Wide Web) the content he/she has uploaded to the remote server, by providing them with pre-determined access rights (‘viewer vehicle’). The invention stores in the user's allotted remote server space, a record of the “viewer vehicles” and “provider vehicles” that have been served to that user by other users of the system. The invention also allows the user to manually amend information to this record and have it saved on the user's allotted memory on the remote server. In addition, the invention provides a method for a user to be reminded at a user-defined interval to upkeep a professional or personal relationship. The invention provides a mechanism for users to append information to the “viewer vehicles” with which they are served and store the information on their allotted space on the remote serve. Finally, the invention includes a system (‘network builder’) which aggregates information which users have entered into a ‘network builder’ system, finds similarities, and then serves users notice of potential professionally or personally useful contacts.
