The ground arrangement includes support means (1), e.g., a slide or flap, carrying conductive ground extension means (4). The support means has fastening means (5) for slidably or rotatably connecting the ground extension means to the radio communication device, wherein the ground extension means is adapted to radiate at at least said first frequency and to couple, e.g., capacitively, to main ground means located in the radio communication device adjacent to said first edge. When extended the extendable ground means provides improved gain and SAR reduction.

It includes a radiating first element having a meander geometry being relatively flat and without any complete loops or turns, a radiating second element having a meander, helical, rectangular or straight geometry. The first and second elements interact to provide one or more modes of antenna operation and the first element feeds the second element in at least one operational mode. Further, an extendable and retractable feature of the second element is disclosed, as well as an antenna adapter for external connection of the inventive antenna means to an auxiliary antenna.

An RF module having an RF antenna integrated with a RF shielding part is disclosed. The arrangement includes a tuning mechanism for tuning the RF antenna according to a Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) specification to thereby tolerate bigger tolerances of the other components on the printed circuit board. More space on the printed circuit board is also obtained as well as avoiding RF losses in transmission lines and soldering connections to an external antenna. A metallic shield can be produced from a single metallic sheet or a molded metallized piece being formed to a desired shape, thereby forming an antenna radiator member integrated with the screening portion of the metallic shield, the antenna radiator member extending over or resting against a supporting element. The VSWR of the antenna radiator member can be tuned by twisting, rotating or shifting the supporting element, which rests on a printed circuit board underlying the antenna device and carrying the electronic components of the RF module.
