摘要: A pothole repair machine utilizes hot mix asphalt material to fill the pothole being repaired. The machine includes a heating apparatus for raising the temperature of the surface of the road surrounding the pothole to soften the material for bonding with the material to be inserted into the pothole. A hot tack spray is then placed onto the surface of the pothole before hot mix material is deposited into the pothole cavity. Before depositing the hot mix material, a sensing mechanism determines the depth of the pothole and causes an adjustment of the height of screening doors to effect the uncompressed height of the filling material at a predetermined percentage of overfill before a vibrating roller compresses the filling material to the level of the surrounding roadway. A plurality of screening doors extends along the transverse width of the machine, each door being adjustably controlled by a depth sensor member.

摘要: A mixing auger apparatus for an on-site mobile concrete mixer is disclosed wherein the mixing auger apparatus is capable of effective operation while oriented at an angle of inclination greater than 22.degree. to the horizontal. The mixing auger apparatus is provided with a flexible housing that extends around the entire circumference of a half flight auger. The flexible housing is suspended from a frame such that the housing is flexible completely around the mixing auger. Adjustment devices allow the positional movement of the flexible housing relative to the mixing auger to modify the clearance between therebetween. The flexible housing is separable to permit movement thereof into an inoperable position to facilitate a cleanout of the mixing auger apparatus. The deployment of the mixing auger apparatus on a mobile concrete mixer permits the use of a standard gravity fed conveying apparatus to deliver component materials to a lower portion of the vehicle with the discharge of a concrete mixture into an elevated chute mechanism which is operable to place the mixture forwardly of the vehicle along a variable range of operation. The mixing auger apparatus is also pivotally supported to provide a range of operation laterally of the vehicle independently of the chute mechanism.

摘要: A mixing machine operable to receive quantities of waste material and an inert material in separate hoppers for conveyance to a mixing chamber for uniform mixing thereof in prescribed ratios is disclosed wherein each hopper is provided with rearwardly directed augers to pull material away from the opening from the hopper to the mixing chamber. The mixing chamber includes a rotatable flail rotor operable to engage the supplies of materials being fed thereto and effect a mixing thereof prior to being discharged to a mixing auger for final mixing of the two materials before discharge from the machine. Each component of the machine is hydraulically driven to provide independent operation thereof relative to any other component of the machine. An additive hopper is also provided to discharge a selected amount of an additive into the mixing chamber for selective neutralization of the waste material.

摘要: A mobile asphalt production machine mixes bituminous concrete at the job site through a mixing auger mechanism mounted in an insulated housing. Propane burners provide heat within the mixing auger mechanism and within the insulated housing to produce a hot-mix bituminous concrete in large or small batches. The components of the asphalt mixture are stored in separate bins that can be re-filled at the job site to provide a continuous supply of asphalt. Hot liquid bitumen is added to heated aggregate within the mixing auger mechanism. Recycled asphalt can be added through a port in the mixing auger for incorporation into the mixture. Controls permit the rate of flow of each individual component to be selectively varied in order to change the recipe for the mixture and to provide calibration of the component, while a master control will maintain the pre-established flow rates through a variable speed of operation.

摘要: A high-speed turbine mixer combines water and cement into a pre-mixed cement paste that is added to aggregates to create a concrete mix. The turbine mixer includes a housing that cooperates with an auger to move dry cement into a mixing chamber where water is added. A mixing plate rotates at high speed to break up water and cement into small particles that enhances the hydration of the cement and increases the air content in the resultant cement paste. The cement paste is then conveyed to a mixing auger to be combined with aggregates to create a concrete mix. The mixing plate divides the mixing chamber to force the mixing water and cement particles to pass through a circumferential annular opening past agitating fins. Admixtures can be added to the cement as a powder or to the water as a liquid for incorporation into the cement paste.

摘要: multi-operational earthworking machine is disclosed wherein the frame includes a telescopible front wheel assembly to permit a selective varying of the length of the wheel base. A carriage, housing an operator's station, is rotatably mounted on the frame for rotation about a generally vertical axis and carries a backhoe assembly pivotally mounted thereto for working the ground beyond the frame of the machine. A pusher type scraper assembly is also provided beneath the frame between the front and rear wheel assemblies. The scraper assembly is provided with a pair of stabilizer pads engageable with the scraper blade to stabilize the machine during operation of the backhoe assembly.

摘要: In a concrete production system, an improved aggregates conveying apparatus includes an aggregates drag conveyor having a lower, conveying run which drags aggregates along a centrally-located, common trough shared by separate fine and coarse aggregates hoppers to a discharge end and an upper, return run which moves through a hollow channel formed in a common wall separating the hoppers above the common trough. An improved cement metering apparatus in the system includes a cement conveyor mounted along a trough below the cement hopper so as to make an endless path around a floor of the trough. Baffle gates at each end of the floor coact with the conveyor to prevent inadvertent flow of cement past the ends of the floor and to only permit metered flow of the cement from the discharge end of the trough. The fine and coarse aggregates, and the cement discharge into a mixing auger where, after water is added, they are mixed into concrete before discharge from the auger. An improved mounting arrangement supports the motor which powers the mixing auger on the inboard end of the auger, while another improved arrangement mounts the mixing auger at a corner of the chassis mounting the system for pivotal movement between raised and lowered positions and swinging movement between side and transverse rear positions.

摘要: A heated sand spreader apparatus has an inclined elongated screw conveyor mounted at the rear end of a mobile chassis for receiving and conveying sand in a rearward direction along a spiraling path. A plurality of heat generators are attached to the conveyor for directing heat on the sand grains moving within the conveyor. The grains are heated to such a degree that upon subsequent contact with ice on a road surface the grains will melt the ice and deposit in it. After the ice refreezes the grains form a granular surface on the ice. The apparatus includes a broadcast-type spreader supported from the auger conveyor which receives heated sand therefrom and is operated to uniformly broadcast the sand grains on the road surface at the rear of the mobile chassis.

摘要: A loading conveyor for a mobile concrete mixing machine is disclosed wherein the conveyor is provided with a receiving hopper for receiving a supply of material from an external source of supply. The chain and slat conveyor is provided with an elevating portion that conveys the material from the hopper to a delivery portion which permits selective delivery to one of two aggregate supply bins. The floor of the conveyor is disposed between an upper delivery run and a lower return run and is provided with a movable section actuated by hydraulic cylinders to selectively create an opening in the floor over one or the other of the aggregate supply bins. The return run is operable to redistribute piled material within the supply bin during operation of the conveyor. The loading conveyor is operable to receive supplies of different aggregates from external sources of supply while the concrete producing machine is in motion along a path of travel to permit a continuous production and depositing of concrete therefrom along the path of travel.
