Abstract: A device for generating gas bubbles in a liquid in a container includes a rotatable gas-permeable hollow shaft arranged in a container, gassing discs arranged on the hollow shaft and spacers arranged between the gassing discs, gassing discs and spacers being arranged alternately on the hollow shaft in gas-tight contact with one another, a feed line for a compressed gas into the interior of the shaft, spacer having a centered opening (O) for receiving the shaft and at least two chambers, the chambers being equally spaced around the centered opening, where the centered opening and the chambers at least partially overlap, where the centered opening and the chambers are in communication with one another at least in the overlap region, so that the compressed gas can flow from the shaft into in each case a chamber of the spacer and enter the gassing discs from the chamber of the spacer.

Abstract: A rotating device includes a carrier, a rotating plate, and a driving unit. The rotating plate rotatably connected with a pivot portion of the carrier contains a test liquid. The rotating plate or the driving unit has a stopping portion. When the driving unit drives the rotating plate to rotate so the stopping portion moves to a first position and interferes with the carrier, the driving unit applies driving force to the pivot portion of the carrier along a first rotation direction through the rotating plate. When the carrier rotates along the first rotation direction and the driving unit applies driving force to the rotating plate along a second rotation direction opposite to the first rotation direction, the rotating plate rotates relative to the carrier, the stopping portion moves to a second position and interferes with the carrier, and the driving unit applies driving force to the pivot portion of the carrier along the second rotation direction through the rotating plate.

Abstract: A process for manufacturing set cellular cement, including the steps of: (i) mixing cementitious material, water, foaming agent and optionally additives into a free flowing slurry having a slump of at least 100 mm; subsequently (ii) injecting and distributing air into the slurry of step (i) to form a cellular slurry; subsequently (iii) casting the cellular slurry of step (ii); and finally allowing the cellular slurry to set. Abstract: An apparatus and a method for heat treating a fluid product by injection of steam therein in order to provide a sterilization, pasteurization and/or a homogenization of the product. The apparatus includes a mixing chamber having a steam injection inlet, a product inlet, and an outlet for the treated product, a rotatable shaft disposed within the mixing chamber, a plurality of discs each comprising at least one product passage opening, the discs being disposed substantially co-axially on the shaft, and a motor for rotating the shaft with the discs. The invention also relates to a shaft to be used for homogenizing and mixing in an apparatus or a process for heating by steam injection a fluid product.

Abstract: A viscous liquid processor includes a low-speed shaft and a high-speed shaft extending in parallel within a casing, and a plurality of agitator blades fixed on each of the shafts and spaced along its axial direction so that the blades on one shaft enter the spaces between the blades on the other shaft. Each of the agitator blades is generally formed in a thick disk-like configuration having a plurality of thick blade members, such a thick blade member having a parallelogrammic cross section. With this simple arrangement, delivery and shearing of highly viscous liquid can be performed to improve the agitation and stirring effects.

Abstract: Kneader-mixers for mechanical and thermal treatment of products in different state forms, comprising a heatable cylindrical casing and a kneader shaft with heatable disk elements revolving therein and on which are arranged kneading blades scraping the inner wall of the casing. During mixing, these stirring elements cooperate with the hook-like kneading counterelments cleaning the stirrer surfaces and fixed in the casing. In each counterelement an arm forms a kneading gap with the casing wall, while second and third arms clean the disks and shaft. Each radial scraper for each disk element has at least two separate scraping edges, which subdivide the product into two product flows and through the inclined position of the kneading counterelements the scraped product acquires a powerful axial and radial transport component.

Abstract: An apparatus is provided for blending and emulsifying a dry product with a viscous product, the latter being disposed to a predetermined level within a tank. The tank is provided with a dry product inlet disposed above the level of the viscous product. The apparatus includes a power actuated rotary agitator immersed within the viscous product and, when rotating at a predetermined speed, causes the viscous product to form a vortex into which the dry product is fed through the tank inlet. The agitator is provided with first and second disc members arranged in spaced, substantially parallel relation. One of the disc members is provided with an enlarged central opening. The disc members are interconnected to one another by a plurality of symmetrically arranged baffles. The periphery of at least one of the disc members is provided with a plurality of symmetrically arranged shear blades.

Abstract: Novel rotary processors which involve a devolatilizing stage including a rotatable element carrying a plurality of annular channels and a stationary element providing a coaxial closure surface operationally arranged with the channels to provide enclosed processing passages. Each passage of the devolatilizing stage includes inlet means, outlet means and a channel blocking member all associated with the stationary element and arranged and adapted so that material fed to the inlet can be carried forward by the rotatable channel walls to the blocking member for discharge from the passage. The passages are interconnected by material transfer grooves formed in the closure surface.The rotary processors of this invention include a novel vacuum system to evacuate the devolatilizing stage. A large manifold completely encloses a relatively large opening through the stationary element and communicates with a vacuum source through a relatively large vacuum port to simultaneously evacuate the passages of the devolatilizing stage at low vapor velocities. The novel vacuum system also includes means to effectively prevent material buildup at least in the region of the opening through the stationary element and the manifold.
