摘要: A wastewater monitoring system uses a camera in a fixed location in a wastewater pipe. The camera is coupled to a sensor that measures some characteristic of material in the wastewater pipe. The sensor is programmed with one or more alarms that, when triggered, cause the sensor to wake up the camera and command the camera to take one or more photos. Sensor data, such as current time/date, location, and the characteristics of material in the wastewater pipe, is sent by the sensor to the camera, which overlays one or more photos with visible text information corresponding to the received sensor data. The sensor can wake up the camera and command the camera to turn on the camera's Wi-Fi interface, which allows a wastewater control system in a remote location to communicate directly with the camera.

摘要: A modular camera includes a battery module, a camera module, and a lens module that can be connected together to make a water-tight camera suitable for monitoring wastewater in wet environments. The camera module includes multiple different external device interfaces that allow the camera to be directly connected to external power, a number of different analog and/or digital sensors, an auxiliary camera, and one or more control outputs. The camera module includes an artificial intelligence (AI) photo analysis tool that analyzes photographs taken by the camera based on an AI model to automatically categorize each photo in near real-time, thereby allowing the camera itself to detect alarm conditions based on an assigned category for a photo, to take action in response to the alarm, and optionally to activate one or more external devices in response to the alarm.

摘要: A wastewater monitoring system uses a digital camera in a fixed location in a wastewater pipe. The digital camera is coupled to a binary sensor that provides a binary trip signal that indicates when the sensor detects wastewater in the pipe exceeding a defined threshold. When the digital camera detects a trip signal from the binary sensor, operating logic in the digital camera changes frequency for taking pictures. The digital camera preferably adds visible data to a stored digital photograph file that may include any or all of the following: camera serial number, state of sensor(s), temperature, battery level in the digital camera, and battery level in the sensor(s). The visible data is stored in the digital photograph file such that the visible information is overlaid on the digital photograph so it is visible to the eye of the person viewing the digital photograph.

摘要: A wastewater monitoring system uses a camera in a fixed location in a wastewater pipe that takes a still photograph of a location of interest at defined intervals, such as five minutes. The photographs are retrieved from the camera, and are then analyzed on a computer system that aggregates the still photographs into a video stream, allows a user to define an area of interest on one of the still photographs, then uses suitable algorithms or heuristics to detect changes between the photographs in the video stream. Video clips of interest are then generated using the detected changes, and are identified to a user so the user can review the video clips of interest to determine flows in the wastewater pipe that was monitored.
