摘要: An archery target is manufactured by stacking a plurality of layers of foam with the bottom surface of an upper layer engaging the top surface of a lower layer in face-to-face engagement to form a stack having a top surface, a bottom surface and a plurality of side surfaces. The foam layers are compressed and the layers of foam are secured to each other by applying heat to the side surfaces such that a plurality of target faces of at least partially melted foam are formed. The layers of foam are further integrated to one another by applying a heated rod through the entire stack to form at least one hole extending through the layers. The archery target is capable of being used in a stand-alone arrangement having at least four target faces and could be used as an insert for a three-dimensionally shaped target shell.

摘要: The solar tracking mechanism is utilized in connection with a solar energy collection system. The collection system includes a light reflective shell shaped to focus solar radiation on a radiation absorbing segment of a tube which carries a heat transfer fluid. The shell is pivotally mounted on a support frame. An actuator mounted between the support frame and the shell rotatably the shell. A solar sensor is mounted deep within a sighting tube which is fixed to the shell such that a line of sight through the sighting tube is at least parallel to the optical axis of the shell. The solar sensor generates a sensor signal which is used as a control input to an actuator control system. End limit switches generate a limit stop signals when the shell reaches maximum angular positions. The actuator control system generates fluid flows to the actuator based the solar sensor signal and the limit stop signals. The method of tracking the sun includes providing a solar cell array, activating the solar collection system when solar radiation illuminating the array exceeds a predetermined threshold, providing a solar sensor shielded from the solar radiation except for direct, aligned radiation, pivotally rotating the shell westward based upon the solar sensor signal, stopping the shell at a maximum angular positions, and rotating the shell westward if the shell does not reach the maximum westward angular orientation during a predetermined daylight time period. The solar energy collection system may be further configured to include a bisected shell, which are hinged together. The shell halves can be collapsed onto each other thereby protecting the light reflective surface and the radiation absorbing segment of the tube carrying heat transfer fluid.

摘要: A housing defines a fluid reservoir for an imaging device. One or more exterior walls define a volume for holding ink to set a fluid backpressure in the imaging device. An opening in the walls is positioned for overflowing excessive ink from the volume to maintain the fluid backpressure within a predetermined operating range. Fluid inlets and outlets connect the reservoir to both a supply item and an ejection head. Ink flows into the reservoir from the supply item. It fills until the fluid rises to a height where it overflows back to the supply item. Less full reservoirs fill as the pump operates, while full reservoirs simultaneously return fluid back to their supply containers. Fluid does not spill from the walls.

摘要: A method of reducing the size of an ink flow regulator in fluid communication between an ink source and a print head nozzle. The method including the steps of: (a) positioning an ink flow regulator and an ink outlet of the ink flow regulator in a first section of the flow regulator; and (b) orienting a pivotable lever, having a first leg coupled to an inlet closure of the regulator and a second leg operatively coupled to an actuating wall of the regulator such that a fulcrum of the pivotable lever separates the first section from a second section of the ink flow regulator, wherein the first section and the second section are in fluid communication with one another.

摘要: A regulator adapted to regulate the throughput of an ink between an ink source and a print head includes: (a) a pressurized chamber including an ink inlet in fluid communication with and ink source, an ink outlet in fluid communication with a print head, and at least one flexible wall; and (b) a lever including a flexible arm extending along a portion of the flexible wall and an opposing arm operatively coupled to a seal biased to close the ink inlet when the lever is in a first position and to open the ink inlet to allow fluid communication between the ink inlet and the pressurized chamber when the lever is pivoted to a second position; where a lower pressure differential across the flexible wall causes the flexible wall to actuate the flexible arm, pivoting the lever to the first position (inlet closed), where a higher pressure differential across the flexible wall causes the flexible wall to actuate the flexible arm to pivot the lever to the second position (inlet open), and where a pressure change from the lower pressure differential to the higher pressure differential across the flexible wall causes the flexible wall to actuate and flex the flexible arm without causing the lever to pivot.

摘要: Some embodiments of the present invention provide an inkjet printhead within which a removable ink cartridge can be installed. Upon installation, the ink cartridge can be coupled to one or more wicks in the printhead for establishing fluid communication between one or more chambers in the ink cartridge and nozzles through which ink exits the printhead during operation. The wick can extend from a cartridge receptacle to a filter in order to transport ink from the removable cartridge to the filter. In some embodiments, the wick is retained in place within the printhead by a cap, which can be coupled to one or more filter towers. The wick can have upstream and downstream interfaces that can be the same or different in shape and/or size.
