    摘要: An apparatus (10) is provided for positioning an driving a toroidal body (11), such as a sand core or the like, during the building of portions of the body. The apparatus (10) includes a height adjusting mechanism (16) for raising the horizontal mid-circumferential plane (A',A") of the body so that it will intersect the rotational center (A) of a shuttle (15) which rotates in a plane transverse to the mid-circumferential plane of body (11). The apparatus (10) includes a centering and driving mechanism (17) which includes idler roller devices (18,20) and a drive roller device (22) whereby the body is positioned and driven with the rotational center (A) of the shuttle (15) lying not only on the horizontal mid-circumferential plane (A',A") of the body, but also coinciding with the center of a cross section of the body formed by a plane of the shuttle (15). The apparatus (10) has a carrier roller aligning mechanism (21) that aligns the longitudinal axes of a plurality of carrier rollers ( 23,24) to intersect with the rotational axis (B,B') of the body to avoid abrasion of the body. The apparatus has a signal turret mechanism (25) with turrets (26,28) having prepositioned proximity switches (189,215), one of which is actuated so that a flag (220) on the body will signal the starting and stopping of the rotation of the shuttle (15) when the flag (220) passes the actuated proximity switch.

    摘要: A shuttle driving assembly (10) including an open shuttle (22) rotatably driven on an automatically opened support frame (16) by a plurality of drive roller assemblies (85,87) carried by the frame (16). Each drive roller assembly (85,87) has a drive roller pulley (84) and at least one with plural belts (192,191,190,188,186) driving groups of the drive roller assemblies.
