Abstract:
A method for rapidly manufacturing soft tooling from organic polymer-based resins and reinforcement filler materials for use in an injection molding machine to make complex metal and ceramic parts from powders. The cost to produce the tooling is relatively low and the manufacturing time is relatively short compared to conventional processes for making metal tooling. The finished parts are near-net shape, requiring little or no machining, and have excellent sintered properties.
Abstract:
The present invention is an accessory attachment, the accessory attachment including a base having an aperture allowing attachment of a clip-on accessory, and an attachment arrangement connected to the base, wherein the attachment arrangement is used to attach the base to a structure.
Abstract:
A reinforced extrusion for attachment to a motor vehicle component edge or flange. The reinforced extrusion includes a reinforcement core having at least one flexible wire and at least one threaded cord. A thermoplastic overmold is formed on at least one side of the reinforcement core and at least partly fills any gaps formed in the reinforcement core. An extruded layer is selectively formed around the thermoplastic overmold and reinforcement core and has a flange extending flange portion extending from a channel portion for engaging a motor vehicle component. The thermoplastic overmold helps prevent the reinforcement core from showing through to any visible show surface of the reinforced extrusion.
Abstract:
A process for shaping threaded metal and ceramic parts from powders and molding compositions therefor is disclosed. Parts produced by this process are formed net shape without the need for machining or other finishing operations. The process comprises forming a mixture containing metal powders, ceramic powders or mixtures thereof, a gel-forming material and an aqueous gel-forming material solvent, and molding the mixture in a mold containing internal and/or external threads under conditions of temperature and pressure to produce a self-supporting threaded article.
Abstract:
A process for molding metal knife blades from powders and molding compositions therefor are disclosed. Parts produced by this process are formed near net shape without the need for machining or other finishing operations. The process comprises forming a mixture containing metal powders, a gel-forming material and an aqueous gel-forming material solvent, and molding the mixture in an injection molding machine under conditions of temperature and pressure to produce a self-supporting knife blade having a sharp edge.
Abstract:
The present invention is a weather strip having a body portion, and at least one elongated flange connected to the body portion. The elongated flange is operable with the body portion such that when the body portion is mounted in place in proximity to a wall member, the wall member applies a force to the elongated flange such that the elongated flange applies pressure to the wall member forming a seal between the elongated flange and the wall member. The weather strip of the present invention also includes at least one flexible member connected to the body portion, and the flexible member being is operable with the wall member such that the wall member applies a force to the flexible member and the at least one flexible member applies pressure to the wall member forming a seal between the at least one flexible member and the wall member.
