摘要： A method for controlling and monitoring operation of a dishwasher appliance is provided and includes directing a first automatic wash cycle within a series of automatic wash cycles to be executed by the dishwasher appliance with a control device associated therewith. Each wash cycle is configured to have an increased energy usage level over a previous automatic wash cycle, and the energy usage level for each wash cycle is determined from at least one operational parameter associated with each respective automatic wash cycle. The method further includes directing a second automatic wash cycle, following the first automatic wash cycle, to be executed by the dishwasher appliance with the control device in response to a selection with an actuator device operably engaged with the control device. The selection may be based on a cleanliness evaluation of dishware washed by the dishwasher appliance.

摘要： An apparatus and associated method for attenuating noise generated by a dishwashing appliance in operation is provided herein. During operation a dishwasher and its components generate thermo-acoustic waves associated with noise. A base tray comprising a major surface and an array of thermo-acoustic nodes are used to manage and control the thermo-acoustic waves. The array of thermo-acoustic nodes can be configured in a plurality of rows and columns with at least two thermo-acoustic nodes being interconnected. The array of thermo-acoustic nodes can be configured to channel the thermo-acoustic waves therebetween so as to control and manage the thermo-acoustic waves, thereby attenuating the noise associated with the thermo-acoustic waves. The base tray can be customizable with various arrangements of different thermo-acoustic nodes, clusters, stabilizers and/or channels.

A drain pump assembly and a circulation pump assembly are in fluid communication with the sump assembly, the circulation pump assembly being discretely disposed relative to the drain pump assembly. A pump motor having first and second rotatable output shafts has the first output shaft operably engaged with the drain pump assembly, and the second output shaft operably engaged with the circulation pump assembly. The pump motor selectively and simultaneously drives the first and second output shafts in a first rotational direction to drive the drain pump assembly, without driving the circulation pump assembly, and selectively and simultaneously drives the first and second output shafts in a second rotational direction, opposite to the first rotational direction, to drive the circulation pump assembly, without driving the drain pump assembly, such that the single pump motor drives both pump assemblies.

A housing receives fluid through an inlet channel and channels the fluid toward an outlet channel extending from an outlet port defined by the housing. A sealing member is disposed within the housing and is capable of forming a sealing engagement with the outlet port. A cradle member disposed within the housing is configured to receive and partially constrain freedom of movement of the sealing member. The cradle member is movable between a valve closed position, where fluid flow toward the outlet channel urges the sealing member into sealing engagement with the outlet port to close the drain valve, and a valve open position, where fluid flow is allowed between the inlet channel and the outlet channel, through the housing, without the sealing member engaging the outlet port.

Each successive wash cycle within the series having an increased energy usage level over a previous automatic wash cycle, wherein each energy usage level is determined from at least one operational parameter associated with the respective automatic wash cycle. An actuator device is operably engaged with the control device, and is configured to be responsive to the user to select a subsequent automatic wash cycle to be executed by the dishwasher appliance as directed by the control device, the subsequent automatic wash cycle comprising one of a previous automatic wash cycle and a successive automatic wash cycle in the series of automatic wash cycles, with respect to the one of the series of automatic wash cycles. An associated method is also provided.

The counterbalance assembly includes a first and second biasing member, each coupled to the body and serially engaged with a respective first and second flexible element coupled to the door. A guide member is secured to the body and includes a fixed arcuate member defining a first guide track, and a pulley rotatable about an axis and defining a second guide track. The first flexible element is at least partially wrapped about each of the fixed arcuate member and the pulley so as to serially engage the first and second guide tracks. The second flexible element is at least partially wrapped about a second side of the fixed arcuate member so as to engage the first guide track. An associated apparatus and method are also provided.

According to one embodiment, a method for preventing overfilling in a dishwasher is provided, wherein the dishwasher includes a water valve for providing water to the dishwasher and a drain pump for removing water from the dishwasher. The method comprises detecting an overfill condition in the dishwasher with at least one detection device, wherein the overfill condition corresponds to a water level in the dishwasher that is greater than a predetermined threshold. The method further includes controlling the drain pump and the water valve in response to detecting the overfill condition in order to facilitate removal of the overfill condition.

摘要： An acoustic panel for reducing the transmission of noise therethrough is provided. The acoustic panel may include a sound-absorbing surface with a plurality of convex and concave structures. The convex and concave structures may be organized in a regular array and may be spatially arranged to be alternating with one another. A dishwasher may use such an acoustic panel including a panel of sound absorbing material by placing such a panel inside the door, in or around the walls of the tub of a dishwasher, or the panel can also be used to reduce the transmission of noise with other products. A method of inserting a panel of sound-absorbing material into the door of a dishwasher is also provided. The panel may include protrusions extending from one of its surfaces in order to engage a supporting surface of the product to which it is attached.
