    摘要: A method for fabricating a capacitor includes forming a first storage node (SN) oxide layer over a substrate, forming a second SN oxide layer over the first SN oxide layer, forming a mask pattern over the second SN oxide layer, dry-etching the first and the second SN oxide layers using the mask pattern as an etch barrier to form a capacitor region, and wet-etching a resultant structure including the capacitor region to enlarge a bottom width of the capacitor region, thereby forming a final capacitor region having the enlarged bottom width, wherein the first SN oxide layer comprises one portion of high impurity concentration and the other portion of low impurity concentration, the one portion corresponding to a region where the final capacitor region is to be formed.

When the plasma display panel is turned on, a voltage at a first electrode is increased from a first voltage to a second voltage, and a voltage at a second electrode is reduced from a fourth voltage to the fifth voltage for the purpose of forming wall charges in cells while a third voltage is applied to the second electrode. A voltage is applied to the first electrode and the second electrode to establish a difference between the first electrode and the second electrode to be alternately a sixth voltage and a negative voltage of the sixth voltage, and therefore the cell is discharged.

    摘要: A power supply that is employable by a plasma display device for generating and supplying a plurality of voltages, the power supply including a first power source generating and supplying a first voltage, a transistor having a drain electrically coupled to the first power source, a first resistor having a first end coupled to the first power source and a second end electrically coupled to a gate of the transistor, a second resistor having a first end coupled to the second end of the first resistor and a second end electrically coupled to a second power source supplying a second voltage that is lower than the first voltage, and a capacitor having a first end coupled to a source of the transistor and a second end electrically coupled to the second power source. The coupling of the first end of the capacitor to the source of the transistor may form a third voltage supply node having the third voltage when the capacitor is charged.

    摘要: In a driving circuit of a plasma display, a drain of a first transistor is coupled to a scan electrode and a switch driver is coupled between a gate and a source of the first transistor. The switch driver turns on the first transistor to reduce voltage of the scan electrode and charge a capacitor coupled to the source of the first transistor. When voltage across the capacitor is increased by a predetermined voltage, the first transistor is turned off and the scan electrode is floated. By repeating this operation, voltage of the scan electrode is gradually reduced. When a discharge is generated in a discharge cell of the plasma display by decreasing voltage of the scan electrode, voltage of the floated scan electrode is increased. The switch driver further discharges the capacitor when voltage variance of the floated scan electrode increases.

    摘要: A power recovery circuit for a plasma display device and a driving method for the circuit. An inductor is coupled to form a resonance circuit and to generate a voltage difference between two electrodes of the same type that are coupled to the two terminals of a power recovery circuit. The resulting circuit allows formation of resonance between the two electrodes and power recovery from the panel capacitors formed in a PDP. Instead of hard-switching, the power recovery circuit is also used to maintain the voltage difference at the pre power recovery level after recovering power. As a result, power consumption is reduced when changing the voltage level of the two electrodes from the same voltage level to different voltage levels and vice versa. Further, elements having the same function are combined into a single element to simplify the circuit.

    摘要: A plasma display supplies a high level voltage and a low level voltage to first and second electrodes performing a sustain discharge in opposite phases during a sustain period. After a voltage of the first electrodes is decreased through a first inductor connected to the first electrodes, the first electrodes are floated to maintain the voltage of the first electrodes at a second voltage. Then, while the voltage of the first electrodes is changed from the second voltage to a low level voltage, the magnitude of the current flowing through a second inductor connected to the second electrodes is increased. Then, the voltage of the second electrodes is increased to a high level voltage using the second inductor. After energy is accumulated in the second inductor, the voltage of the second electrode is increased to the high level voltage.
